I was on 9 man table in a tournament, in position with AK. A loose, aggressive player goes all in with more chips than me. About 150 players left, pays top 40. I was in about 65th. What is the play here? Call or fold?

What are the blinds/antes? Stack sizes? Position? Lots more info on the situation and table dynamic is needed before anyone could possibly begin to give you a helpful answer as to how to proceed in that situation.

Yes maybe a screen shot of the hand? but ak is difficult in those spots especially if he's raising a lot stealing i imagine he was since you say a loose agro player

Even if the LAG was UTG and shoves, you´re sitting in late position and everyone folds to you. Getting ´close´ to the FT, i think a call isn´t bad here. He´s a LAG player, but if you haven´t seen him making this move the whole tournament, or only with aces or kings you should fold. I like risking a double up in these stages to join the FT with a bigger stack. But will need more information about stacksizes and blinds etc. If you take notes and concludes his range with this move, and there are more bad cards then good cards for him to make this move, you should call.

i was excited to read this because i thought you were talking about options trading (deep put not in the money). It's funny because I've been looking for creative ways to short this market. LMAO. but no, you were talking about poker of course haha

this is a stack size and villian stat question, depending on the villian and on the effective stack sizes this could go either way

Whats the buy in?

I am willing to call if buy-in is somewhat small.

Based on the fact the monetary value is too small to care about, or you think people are shoving with less at the lower stakes? One of those answers is a very bad one.

If he's LAG then its probably a call. Anyone left to act? Stack sizes? how many people entered the tourney? Whats the min cash? Avg stack size of field? I dont think 150 left and 40 getting paid is close to finishing... 40 being paid youre either playing some crazy percentage payout or maybe like 360 field? In which case youre only half way....
