This is one of the rare times I have ever triple barrel bluffed in my entire poker life....perhaps I should keep it that way.
Playing on Bovada, I have no real read on anyone at my table. I just got moved to this table about 6 hands before.
I am the 2nd biggest stack in the entire tourney with about 16,800 in chips
average stack is about 2,800.
We are in the early/mid stages of a large MTT (400+ total entrants). late registration just closed. Blinds are 100/200
I am on the button, and the BB is sitting out.
Villain is seated directly to my right has about 12,500 in chips.
It folds to Villain in the cut off he limps for 200.
I look down at A6 suited in hearts. I smell weakness so I raise it up to 675.
the blinds fold, villain flat calls me. Pot contains 1,650
The flop is a K75 1 heart 1 spade 1 club. He checks, I bet out 1,000 He flats. The pot now contains 3,650. I'm putting him on a small pocket pair, or a 7 or a 5.
The turn is a Q of spades. He checks to me I bet 2,100. He again flats me. The pot now contains 7,850.
The river is the beautiful K of spades. I just don't put him on a King or spades the way he's been playing. He checks to me again and I bet out 3,700. He tanks then calls and shows down 95 offsuit for bottom pair.
How can you call off more than half your stack in that hand with bottom pair, no kicker on a K75QK board with 3 spades?
I don't know what makes me sicker, his calling or my stupid bluffing.
So....was this line of play completely unreasonable? I think I should have given up on the turn after my C-bet failed. But since I DID find myself at the river, I thought the river bluff should work a high % of the time due to board texture and our stack sizes.
edit to add: 99% of the time if I played the hand this way I would have something like KT, KJ or AQ and have him totally crushed.
