Here's a hand that my friend had a question about. He was PFRing about 25% of the time, and already folded once to a reraise from his UTG raise. I said that calling is the worst option here and lean towards pushing, but my friend says that someone was trying to tell him that it'd be best to just fold. He thinks that calling was a decent option which I don't agree with at all...

I have to agree Shove or Fold. Calling for 25% of your stack, would be pretty weak with a drawing hand. Villian raising 25% of his hands PF makes it a tough fold, but I think at best hero is looking at a race for all of his chips unless Villian has been pulling this type of play before defending his blind. Folding here is no shame as hero only had 4%-5% of his stack in here.

Sorry, my friend was PFRing 25% of the time, which might make villain more likely to do this with a strong ace or maybe a mid pocket pair, which should get forced out by the shove. QQ probably wont but may fold. JJ is more likely folding I would say, same with TT.

and it was from 2nd to act, not under the gun, but still very early position so kinda irrelevant.

What was the read on the opponent? Knowing your own stats is good but we really need some read on the opponent. W/O a read I have to lay AKs down to a reraise. Now if the opponent was a 65/32 then I have no problem w/ the shove here but if opponent was a 12/10 then it's an autofold.

Hard to fold that hand in a tourny or ring game. It would all come down to how the villian had been playing to me. If I didn't have a good read, I would probably fold it.

You're right about calling, definately not an option. What are reads/stats on villain? I would most likely fold in this situation. Stacks are so deep, your friend is not going to lose a lot of ground compared to the field by folding, but getting all in could result in being knocked out. AK is only 33%(I think, correct me if I am wrong) to hit on the flop, and even if they have 7 2, if they hit the 2 and you dont improve youre beat. If you had a smaller stack than you did here, for instance lets say 20bb, insta push. 65 bb's is too much to risk for AK though oop
