Thought about this for a long time. My opponent comes in to this hand with 23%/20%/Infinite stats. He has only played 15ish hands at this point and has shown a few strong hands. He raised UTG and after checking the flop and turn, I was left with quite a decision. I completely expected a bet on the flop and was surprised with two checks.

he could have raised pre flop with a low/medium pair, so you can either throw out a flop information bet or just check behind....it really depends on your opponent though...is he trappy? if he is then i would check behind and just hope to hit your hand with free cards

check behind imo.

^^ This imo. You aren't really going to be able to represent that 9 so i just check behind. Once you have checked the flop, you have to kind of give up on the pot as villains is likely to call you r bet with a,k, and pp's here. Just take the free card

I would have taken the check at the point, but I'm curious. What did you do and how did it work out?

Thinking "why did I call preflop?".

Fold or all in preflop - calling with 6th of your stack is hatefull.

Don't necessarily agree with that at all. While fractionally, that might be the correct play, no harm in calling here to see the flop given my position. With 4 tight players on the table with position over me, I knew there was very little chance someone was going over the top so it gave me the freedom to make that call.

Here's the rest of the hand btw:

IMO you should've shoved pre, or fold the hand... You have roughly 18 bb's, you are in no position to be cold-calling raises with hands like AJo.
As played, check behind turn, and fold river if the straight missed.

Saw this guys post on Pocket 5's. Turns out he had KJ which completely makes sense for how he played it. Just unlucky for me the flop wasn't J-x-x or something, had him dominated pre-flop.

Like said fold or 3 bet preflop. Your stack is really bad to flat at this point, and even if the shortstackers aren't likely to push it's still a big possibility and you'll be priced to call with AJo by then. As played I probably check behind on the turn as he probably won't give you credit for a Q and maybe not even a T as you checked behind on the flop. Check and hope you hit something.

I probably would have let the free card peel on the turn, though I understand your bet on the turn to get information. And his donktastic min-raise on the turn and obvious value bet on the river gave you plenty of that.

Shove pre flop against a UTG raiser is horrible with A J. i would of personally
check the turn and hope to catch, but as played just fold to the min raise on the turn

Not so horrible against this aggro villian. He's been raising almost every time he enters into a pot.

No betting the turn, He's a big stack and if he senses weakness he may push on you.

I would say he either has an underpair or flopped a set trying to get you to stack off. I would check behind and depending on the river if he checks again probably bet it
