$777 NLHE MTT: 18bb late pos. jam or raise small pocket pairs? WSOP 777

This is late in day 1 of the wsop 777 event. we are about 40 mins from bag n tag. I have blinded down to 18 bbs and have a very tight image at this table. I have not played a single hand since I got moved here about an hour ago.

It folds to me in the CO. I have

The Button has recently taken a bad beat in stride and went from table chip leader to 20b

The SB just got moved here about 5 hands ago and has about 40bb.

The BB has about 15bb and seems tight/straightforward.


Question is it better to open jam or just make a table standard raise (about 2.5bb?)

IMHO jam, 2.5x just invites trouble with these other stack sizes.

jam it, especially when we have decent equity when called, don't want to r/c and r/f sucks balls, getting called sucks balls. I would raise some hands here, 44 is in my shoving range especially when people want to make the next day

The small blind is the only stack I worry about. Otherwise I agree with everything.

The stack sizes are so awkward if you get flatted or jammed on.

I jammed. SB called with AK an BB called with QQ.

I turned a set of 4s and this was probably the most important hand of the tourney for me which led to an $8,000+ cash.

but it sounds like I played it correctly judging from the replies.
