This hand kinda played itself. I am only posting it to remind you that these kinds of players are still out there. I'm sure you've run across them before. I've seen this guy do this before but I was still shocked when his hand was revealed!

I like your postflop line. With top set on A high board we have so much board lock, that its often fine to do something a little more creative than just bet, bet, bet. Your preflop 3-bet is to small though. We dont want to just min-click and certainly not out of position. With aces you miss a ton of value by going so small, and with everything else you miss out on fold equity. But overall nice hand and as you say LOL the Villain

Yes indeed it was. I have played over a hundred hands with this player (not a huge amount but enough to get an idea about him) and he does this regularly.

Raise more preflop 3x will be fine.
We have nuts on flop so check/call or check/raise are nice options depends on opp. As villain is aggresive let him do your job.

Life can't get better than this. Pocket aces and some guys going nuts exactly when you have the best hand. I like how you played it overall. Maybe a bigger 3bet preflop, but other than that, is was a dream situation. Maybe with a bigger 3bet he would have folded and missed this big pot, so everything worked out perfect for you. Nh
