Live game from last night, I just got moved tables and have been here one orbit, villian has raised once and taken down the blinds preflop, seems to be TAG and isnt limping like the rest of the table. SB is a station (i know him well). My image should be good, Im after winning a hand with a flopped set.

Blinds 200/400(first level after re-buy addon period).

Stacks me(CO) $25,000, sb $35,000 bb $28,000

Folded to me in the CO with [Ah] [Kc], I raise to 1000, both blinds call.

Pot ($3,000) Flop [Kh] [2s] [9d]

sb bets $1,000, bb calls, I raise to $4,500, sb calls, bb shoves.

First thought is that its a snap call,but I tank and realise that I only beat 2 hands right ? We can expect the small blind to call with any piece here.

I'd like calling the shove a lot more if there was some kind of draw out there. Also if stacks were shorter it's snapcall.

Here though I agree I don't see what you are beating (there's a lot of AKs for him here btw) other than KQ horribly played.

SB is behind so often it's just bad luck if he's ahead this time.

I think it's a fold and cry when he flips KQ and the SB calls with 9T.

Ye agree with Irexes, he need a holding to move over the top against a (small) raise and a reraise. He could hold same hand as you AK, else 2 pair, sets.
Board seems a bit dry towards drawings .

I think your Inital raise is a bit small with that holding and in the CO thou.

I can't see BB showing up with anything but a set here.

Could be a set or KQ or KJ.. He could be reading you as a weak King.. Maybe 2 pair or AA.. Call seem pretty likely though..

It was pretty much to do with what size raises the sb usually calls, I really really want him in the hand. Against unknowns then yea i raise more.

Ok I only get half marks for saying AK and then switching to KQ but nailing the 9T is surely worth some love?!!??!
