Even if it is just half BB to see the flop, i fold it pre-flop most of the times, especially if it is an UTG limp and already a call after that. Multi-pots with hands like this, rarely ends well...

In this case, I fold - and beat myself after i see it is a flush, straight, combo draw, maybe an over pair in both of their hands...

Folding to that action would certainly not be crazy, but I ended up calling, and here is the result. Not quite sure what BB was doing, and as for BTN the hand is a text book example of how to not play a big hand :)

BTN was trying to catch a fish like BB, but unfortunately a shark was targeting at him:)

I lost over $400 in a min-raised pot with Kx vs Ax in a live cash game in Sharm el-sheik, with flopped trips. Not many hands I could beat except for a flush draw. I guess it comes down to who shoved first & all non Ace trips should be laid down... says the Nit with PTSD :)

Thank you for posting

The BTN raise makes no sense with any 5x 44 hand because you are calling the first shove with top of range only. If the BTN was afraid to not get value from you on turn they may shove but how are you folding turn with top of range if they just call the raise for 60% of your stack and you over-call?

They may think you are really a weak player that would lead a flush draw here and are afraid you would over-call that draw and crack their 56.
There is no advantage to this play in this spot with nut to near nut hands but that does not mean the V is not very weak and does shove 44 here. Has the BTN over played over pairs or flush draws before? Are they that weak?

If my V where capable of not having a 5x hand here for stacks then I would not have lead this pot I would check evaluate then shove.
My lead here would be to define their hands based on the data I had on my V already (passive preflop and passive post flop) so one of the 2 shoves will have a 5x hand 90% when I lead so I would be folding here to continue to use my skill advantage with a 17bb ish stack.

Hope this helps

I don't know why nobody is commenting stack sizes and that this is an early stage of tournament since all stacks together makes just around 1500 each (give or take). With that said you flopped trips and with srraight and flush onboard. In early stages players (maniacs) think their top pair is unbeatable (2 Aces) and he was lowest on stack...
what you did ?
GG !
(I would play the same, correct me someone if Im saying wrong).
I agree it wasn't really limping spot but...worked well !

That's the least what BB was thinking, but what the button guy was doing after a limp he calls with AA??? Good for you. That's some +++ why worthy to play these levels...

Its always nice to get clueless players to spaz out by donk betting into them.

I hardly ever get this result - when I perform a donk bet with the nuts or near nuts.

The button player got exactly what he deserved by playing passive/tricky. I love seeing 'tricky' players getting stacked when they try to play tricky with monsters, then - DON'T BELIEVE when you put their entire stacks to the test on the river.
Didn't even need to see turn or river for this one to not believe. LOL
