vs fish it's a pretty big mistake to not get our stack all in by the river here when he is betting.

i like your pre play,

flop call is ok, but we're kinda looking to shutdown on the turn and hope for a showdown, so it's not great but it's not bad either.

turn raise i would bump it up, he's bet two streets... now if he's bluffing, any type of raise will likely make him fold, if he has a value hand, he's not folding anytime soon, and we don't have a stack that can scare a fish into folding, so i'd make it like 3-4k and jam the river....

The best way to play vs fish is to maximise value when they have a hand that is second best, so that means bet and bet hard, you will lose value from other parts of their range, but it will be made up in these areas tenfold imo.

I am please on streets except river.

It shows on earlier streets he has something especially on turn.

I think you didnt extract the maximum value of our hand on river. Though play is standard and fine for me.

Excellent play on the turn and river, created a trap and lured the opponent. And yes, on the river you could shove, opponent would call.

I agree what some people have said calling is okay here since we are trying to get a good value on this hand, flop, turn and river is well played though if your thought's are like "He's bound to have a King" re raise when your the fish against you, he's not going to fold a pair K, Or at least I wouldn't of thought so.

But all in all good play.

preflop play is pretty bad, 99 in button vs MP limper you have to raise and isolate the very probable fish, with that the hand gets easy to bet flop, bet turn , bet/all in river

that seems like a good plan when you hit a set. but what happens when you don't hit a set? which is more likely that we do not hit a set often.

so say i bet 3x BB pre. mp3 calls. SB and BB gets out of the way. pot size comes at around 2100~

now mp3 bets 1/2 pot post flop which is like 1000~

would you be comfortable calling that amount to see the turn? and what happens when a 9 doesn't fall on the turn and mp3 continues to bet?

this is just how i would think and this is why decided to keep the pot small by simply calling pre so that the fold would be easier in case i missed the flop and the turn as well. actually this is what i learned from the forums i guess?

Flatting pre is fine imo

Flop is a bit more tricky, someone running 45/8 pre is usually passive postflop too.

Turn and river are great but as wizzim said just size the turn raise to leave yourself less than pot behind for the river and the hand plays itself
