We were down to the last 2 tables 20 players and the top five got paid. Blinds were 400/800 and my stack was about 25K average was about 45k. UTG raised to 3.5k I was next to go with pocket AA. i 3 bet to 8k everybody else folded to the original raiser who quickly called. Flop came 4q2 rainbow, UTG checked. I decided to move all in for my last 17k. UTG snapped called and turned over pocket q's.. turn and river blank and me gone...was I just unlucky or could I have played it any other way.

Standard play, can you really predict a set in this position after all you know is that he called you pre? no. This play can be made with many hands which you are beating and you are ahead a high proportion of tyhe time

You cannot do much in these situations. Just play your optimum game and not let your decisions get influenced by such results.
