Very early in this 9man SnG. I know nothing about the UTG raiser. The guy on the BTN is a decent TAG. PF raise and 2 callers I think I have to iso with JJ, right? Should I have just 3bet to like 12bb or is shoving the better choice? I think calling was out of the question with 2 other callers already.

Hard to put this guy on a range without really knowing him but I assumed AJo+ KQo+ K9s+ Q9s+ any suited A or 66-AA, I guess.

it is call and fold on flop or what you just did, preflop allin... preflop mini-raise, 3bet out of options for me...

after a bet and 2 calls, the allin more favorable for me, i think it was okay like this.

This is a standard shove. Just unlucky flip.

The most important thing to note about this hand is the fact, that MP used a very large open size of around 4,5BB. This is very non-standard in todays games, so we need to at least consider, what his range might look like. There was a time, where staggered bet sizing was very popular, because people would just call completely inelastic. But I feel, this is not so much the case in todays games.

So while you might occationally run into someone, who is doing this, because he have AA or KK, and he just came back to online poker after a 10 year long break, I tend to think, its more commonly a hand like AQ/AK or a middling pair. Hands that are kind of strong but also dont want to play a multiway pot out of position. And typically people using this sizing are not the best players in the game, so if I jam here, I expect to get a lot of calls from hands, I dominate, maybe even down to something as bad as 66.

And as for the field callers, if they had QQ+, I think, they would mostly have gone for a 3-bet. So I feel pretty good about JJ in this spot, and with his large sizing and the two field callers, we cant really go for a 3-bet, thats not all-in. JJ is a terrible hand to play out of position against 3 opponents, so I agree with showing here and hoping to either get 3 folds or get it in against a hand, thats not QQ+.

You got called by AK, and I am not at all shocked, MP had a hand like that, and overall this was not a bad situation for you. Its often called a "coin flip", but JJ actually has 57% equity against AKo, and there was a lot of dead money in the pot. So this was definitely a profitable situation, which just happened to not work out this time.
