Villain in hand is fishy 55/0 type (admittedly that makes him a pretty terrible steal target, but not the point).

PokerStars - $3+$0.40|25/50 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

SB: 1,155.00
BB: 1,415.00
UTG: 1,215.00
UTG+1: 1,525.00
MP: 3,705.00
MP+1: 1,460.00
CO: 1,420.00
Hero (BTN): 1,605.00

SB posts SB 25.00, BB posts BB 50.00

Pre Flop: (75.00) Hero has 7:diamond: Q:club:

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 125.00, SB calls 100.00, fold

Flop: (300.00, 2 players) 4:club: A:club: 7:club:
SB checks,
Hero bets 175.00, SB raises to 350.00, Hero ???

So now I've been check-raised. The fish never does this with anything worse than an ace, right? And probably never folds to a shove? So should we just fold or do we have enough equity to jam?

Pretty early to do anything fancier than a standard 1/2 pot cbet. Throw out 150 chips and take it down.

Okay that's kinda what I figured. I guess the only reason I posted this was because I got check/raised and was feeling results-oriented.

I guess that's the more interesting question actually - if we get check/raised, do we have enough equity to get it in? (I think I'll add that to OP real quick)

That's the question you want the experienced folks to weigh in on. Remember to edit the spoiler out of your second post!

Eeewww, the dreaded check-minraise. You're probably right, villain is never folding any ace or any hand better than that either since you're obviously a big bad bully who's trying to steal all his money.

Villain only has 680 left behind, there's 825 already in the pot, if we're not up against a made flush we've got somewhere between 9 and 14 outs and we're 35-51% to hit by the river. I dunno the ICM figure but it's +chipEV to get it in against anything less than a made flush. Even a made flush isn't that bad as long as it doesn't have the Kc.

As you know, preflop is pretty bad vs a 55 type. On flop we can just fire out a bet of around 150-200 hsould work just fine.

I prefer checking the flop in this instance. If we're behind we are going to get checkraised because of the 3flush down there looking all scary...if we're ahead and they have a strong draw we might get checkraised...if we bet and get flat called, we have no clue where we stand and all it would take is 2 random blanks on turn/river and for them to bet out at the river and suddenly our hand isn't good enough. However, if we check the flop and we are ahead, they have a total of...like maximum 6 outs? Any club and we're sexy, they'd need to have two overcards to the 7 to have a 4 out draw on us, and would need to have exactly 56 to have 6 outs on us. We're damn near a lock to win this pot at this point with a hand that's incredibly fragile to raises/aggression/really anything out of the ordinary.
