Joachim23?

I think I played the hand ok up to now.

Villain is a pretty solid player. The pf raise was weak, but I put him on AK or AQ.

Post flop I'm thinking top pair takes the pot with my 1/2 pot bet. Too weak?

With the call, I wonder if maybe he has a big pair. With the pf raise (even if weak) I don't think I'm looking at a 58 ..... he's not hanging around for a gut shot. 8T for the up and down is possible but unlikely I think.

When the six hits, I think my two pair is good, but concerned about the straight. With the shove, I wondered if he was dropping the hammer on his AA or KK after a little slow play, and I have the best hand going to the river.

It was a 27 man SNG, and I'm in the money in 4th.

A miscalculation here basically ends my day.

Call or fold?

You probably have the best hand. However, when I call in this type of situation it seems like Villain usually has the best hand. Happens all the time. I don't put him on a straight so I call or shove and he has guess what? A set. So, I really don't know what to say except "go with your gut"...

Reads and player tendencies would be of help here. Please include them next time. Definitely call in this spot. Villain could have any pair+draw or combo draw. You beat a LOT of 9x hands like 9T, 98, 9dXd, and 78, 75 etc. Weak PF raise seems more like a non made hand that picked up a draw or made a pair+draw. If hes is raising with T8 then he will also be raising with all those 98 and 78 hands that you beat as well. Plus its 4 handed. Call.

Preflop I fold here or raise. Your call puts you oop for the rest of the hand and the minraise can be anything from connectors to AA. Unless you have a specific read that says the min-raise is unpaired paint I don't see how you can narrow his range to AQ,AK.

As played I think you are ahead enough times that you can call this and will see TT+ hands but middle pocket pairs are also well within opponents range. 85 & T8 I agree do not need to be considered.

The more I play the more I see that this is good advice.

I'm still capable of getting a bit 'lazy' and kind of put off decision making to see a fairly cheap flop.
