The funny thing about hands like this is that they work out well in the short term but often poorly in the long run. In other words, the button limps with a junky suited hand, flops a flush, and stacks his opponent. It encourages him to keep on making plays like this which lose money in the long run.
Poker can have a lot of deceptive feedback loops like this
Coolers are part of poker. And while I can not blame SB for going broke with a straight here, his hand was not much more than a bluff catcher. Its not that difficult for someone to have a flush, when 3 cards of the same suit are on the board, especially not in a limped multiway pot. In his spot I would probably have raised preflop with KTs and not just completed. That might have gotten 62s out of the pot, so to some extend he created his own cooler.
This happens because it is a spin the SB usually calls with any hand where only he has to pay the BB, it is the way the spin is played and more if it is 0.25, then a combination of very good luck and very bad luck, but BB must have raised KTs since he was in a spin

A Spin is just a 3-handed fast tournament with short stacks and no ante. There is no special strategy, you have to use, just because its a spin. Admittedly this situation is a little awkward for SB because of the stack sizes. But why not just go all in? BB only has 6 blinds left, so KTs is more than good enough to jam against him. Sure we are a little deep against BTN for a jam, but if he is the kind of player, who raise all his good hands and only limp junk like this, then we are almost freerolling him. The worst, that can happen is, he call us with 44 or A2 offsuit, and that is ok. We will just need to get lucky and win the flip.
