hi,
I'm the BB, mid stage tournament, and I have 89os.
several players limp; actually most players like to limp preflop.
you just see limping preflop so often; and when you raise, the limpers will just call your raise :-/
so, players limp to the BB who checks.
flop comes : 882.
great flop for me I think !
SB checks. I small bet 500 in a pot of around 2500.
players fold to the SB who 3bet with 2000.
the way the villain plays, I am pretty sure he got an 8.
what I think at that moment is what about his kicker.
I could fold or go allin. I went allin, he instant called and showed 8K
(no 9 came post flop unfortunately)

what do u think ? how would you have played that ?

I need stacksizes to give a better answer as well as SB player stats.

This are often tough situations in general, you got a monster yourself, but with the board showing 882 in a multiway limped pot facing a checkraise from SB you gotta ask yourself indeed, with what hands that you have got beat would he do that?

I also would put him on 8x or 22, if you never have seen him bluff before like this I think its safe to assume that the majority of his 8x range has you beat.

It's probably a very tough fold in this case.

As MofD said > we need to know stack sizes.
I'm not sure what you're hoping/trying to accomplish by re-raising ALLIN when you think villain might have '8' in their hand.

well, we both had a similar stack size. somwhere around 30xBB.

i think masterofdisaster just gave the right answer. tough fold but had to be folded.
I was not proud of myself on that one.
anyway, i'll meet the guy again for sure. i won't make such a mistake twice.

My gut reaction here is I might be able to get away if I'm deeper than 25 blinds. If I had 25 BBs or less, I'm stacking off with trips.

very low bet on the flop.. smell so fishy cause you are never bluffing there, and if the guy has a good hand he could easily reraise and make you feel he might be bluffing.

pot 2500 multiway with that hand i would probably be betting around 1300, if the guy reraises it's easy fold
