$2 NL HE STT Turbo: AJo in SB facing BTN shove from tight villain, 7 BBs

Villain was tight, something like 7/5. However, this suggested he knew what he was doing, since being tight in the early stages is the way to go. He shoves from the button with about 9 BBs left, and I'm sitting in the SB with a little over 7 BBs. His shove looked like a steal attempt, and I figured his range was wide enough for me to be crushing most of the time (Axs, K9s+, QJs), so I made the call. Right play?

With mouse shoving I fold even though he's on the button. His preflop range is way ahead of ajo.

I would fold here, it's probably close though. Your read makes me lean towards folding, even though he might be a decent player as you said, and widen his range a little. Even if he is shoving semi-wide, we're not much better than a flip:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 52.931% 49.20% 03.73% 2092777428 158567172.00 { AJo }
Hand 1: 47.069% 43.34% 03.73% 1843451364 158567172.00 { 22+, A2s+, K9s+, QJs, A7o+, KJo+ }

Obviously, this range isn't exact, but I think it gets my point across.

I think you guys are right, as I looked over the hand again it seemed more like a fold to me.

Villain had KJo, but full tilt punished me for the call anyway by giving him a straight :(.

Its close, AQ id call, here id fold. I think his range is tighter due to the fact that we have a big stacked BB. (usually an indication of a loose player...)
