Villain in this hand has been playing aggressive, but not crazy. I've been playing very few hands, maybe three since I got sat at this table half an hour ago.

What range of hands would you put the villain on here, and what's our action?

Well I don't know if we have a specific range here, but I could see A/9+, 77+(maybe 66- if he's loose), and any KQ, KJ, QJ (possibly) combo are likely. I don't know how wide his range is exactly, but that is a guess.

That is a lot of hands he could have but I would still lead out here with a nice 1/2 pot bet here.

That's when you have to play it by ear, with a raise you have to consider how much of your stack will be at stake here if you call.

I bet with the intention of folding to a re-raise... but that's just me

its difficult to tell, he got a lot of chips at very early point of the tourny ,so he might be a gambler and could call this with weird but winning hand, 1/2 pot its a good bet, but if you don't know the player and he is take a lot of risks it could end very ugly

Like I said, he's been aggressive but not crazy for the 30-odd minutes we've shared a table. If it makes a difference, a big portion of his chips came from stacking off with a set against a seriously awful loose-passive fish. He's played a number of other pots too, but that was where the big portion of his stack came from.
