Villain has been a maniac up to this point, he's sitting at a few of my tables, running a 40/30 over 17 hands. I think flatting here is standard, please let me know if you disagree.

Anyway, my question here sort of stems from something that was discussed a little bit in the hand I posted a few days ago - when we call his bet pre, do we always fold if we miss our set? Or can we continue on flops like this one? Are there other flops we can continue on? How does villain type change our course of action?

Also please try to explain your answer thoroughly, one line posts don't really do anything for me in HA

I call pre, but not just to set mine. His range could consist of ATs/o+, A9s+, KJs+,KQo+, 55+ QJs, JTs, being so loose, even though his stats are over a small sample size. I also think we can call the flop and reevaluate the turn. If another over comes, and he bets, we can safely fold, if he checks we can either bet into him or check back and hope for a cheap showdown. Not entirely sure on the correct answer, but in game i call pre and call this flop and evaluate the turn card

Looks like a pretty standard float spot to me.

Bet all turns if he checks to you, fold all turns he leads at.

Not sure if his range is too loose here though

~Surely you are 3betting pre vs a maniac and you dont find yourself in this spot ?

This is a tricky spot and one I hate to play in-game. I'd love a way to play this :p

In game i'd probably just flat and fold/raise his c-bet depending on conditions such as players behind etc.

Looks like a standard c-bet to me though.

3-betting isn't terrible either, as you'll be playing IP against a loose (and probably weak) player. If he 4-bet ships it's an easy laydown.
If he calls and checks you can rep a big hand.
If he calls and donk bets, then I have no clue :p

Okay cool, that's about what I figured for this spot. So the real question is what reads, board texture, villain types, stack sizes, etc. need to change to make this a fold? What about a shove? Or even a fold pre-flop?
