It's a double runner flush draw.
I'm too chicken to raise, because I'm worried that I might be up against a higher flush. So I just call.

As played pre i like the c-bet (3/4 pot) on the flop to rep the A and fold to a raise.

I think you should be happy for what you got.

Flop:
A C-Bet here is not a bad idea however with his hand he would have likely raised (which you would would have to fold)

Turn:
You could have raised here but this would have been a looser as you both had flush draws and he had higher cards than you.

River:
You could have raised here but you are only going to get 4 hads to call: Trip As (win), lower flush- not many (win), Higher flush (lose), Full house (lose). All of the rest will fold for sure (as he would have). So here I think a call is the appropriate play and you should be happy that you got runner runner for the win.
