Just flatting to induce Kyz to call isn't a bad idea. However, if you have a read that his range contains only premium hands, you should 4 bet preflop and extract more. I probably 4 bet the majority of the time to accomplish one of two things: isolate the short stack or extract more from Kyz.

+1, you should 4B here PF. As played, I think you should have check/raised on the flop, though if he called he probably would have scared you off on the turn when the 3rd heart hits :dontknow:

If Kyz hasn't been raising for the past 15 min and you're putting him on a hand like AK, AQ, then that's even more reason for you to 4bet preflop with a hand like KK. We want to extract as many chips as we can with a hand like KK, and if we put Kyz on a hand as strong as AK, it's very likely they're coming along as well.

A 4bet would look like a squeeze play which would probably brought Kyz along or even gotten him to come over the top of you if he did think you were just trying to isolate.

In fact, I think the 3bet cold call might've given off some warning bells on the strength of your hand. And then when you donk bet on the dry flop just confirmed the strength of your hand.

Wiven your read, 4bet jamming preflop is ideal. Without that read I would flat to induce the call or shove from the opening raiser.

As played, the reason you didn't 4bet pre was to extract more from your monster, right? So why do you lead so big into a fairly dry flop if you think AK/AQ makes up a big portion of his range?

Here, I think the optimal play will depend on his Cbetting frequencies. If he has a high Cbet % (something like 70+%) then I would go for the check raise jam. If he has a lower Cbet% then I would lead out kinda smallish positioning myself to get it in on the turn and extract value from some hands like 88-QQ. Heck, some players will even call a small enough bet with AK. So I'd lead out for something like 2,000 on the flop if he has a low Cbet%.
