$1 NL HE: $ NL HE: Was it a cold deck or should i have folded?

Hey yall.
I was wondering if i should have folded on the flop. It was a double or nothing if that makes a difference.

Sorry but this is an easy fold for me after your flop 4-bet when you get 2 shoves after you. You are drawing to 4 outs here as at least one of those 2 opponents will have a set or the ST8, especially with the donk-bet/shove by MAKS.

The only hands that beat him are AA, 33, 55, 24.

24 is highly unlikely, as is AA, leaving just 33 and 55. Far more likely they've got just the A or even A3, or the flush draw.

So why is 2,4 of diamonds not likely?

It's just like that hand from "Rounders" where KGB gets caught on his Oreo tell.

They both had flush draws and both had me beat on the turn. Turn came king
of clubs. What are the 2 hands that beat me but also have them have a flush
draw?

If they had flush draws then you were going into the hand as a favourite as they couldn't have had sets - if one of them had the ace it would be 60/40 and if neither of them had an ace it would be more like 70/30...I can't see what's wrong with getting the money in when you are ahead.

Admittedly it is early stages of the tournament, which may influence you, but if that was the case then I wouldn't have raised after watching the action before me.

AKd gives flush draw and top 2, and 24d gives made straight and flush draw, both hands would have you beat when Kc is the turn.

I think it would be difficult to fold here, I know in a double up survival is the key but you see loads of people going all in on that flop with AK, Ax or draws.

However, after the final re-raise shove and call behind you've got to think you're beat here. in a limped pot you could see 33/55 etc limping and hitting the flop and shoving here.

I think betting the flop would be better than a check-raise, although it wouldn't have made much difference in this hand, neither of them were folding, but you may have found out where you were a bit earlier in the hand.

Lots of good points. Add to all that, you are in a DON and survival is the key. In a DON, you do not have to survive all that long. Your 2 pair, however sweet it looked, was very vulnerable.

I second betting the flop. But when the other guys raise it on up, you would need to actually consider the fold. It's hard, sometimes, isn't it?

Remember to say "WTH? What's wrong with this picture?" to yourself when something like this happens. This sort of action requires consideration.

The amount of detail some people try to go into is amazing.

Top 2 pairs. $1 Tourney, I jam this all the time, everytime, there is no other possible thing to do that makes sense.
