bet the turn, the river is really bad for us, unless he's really horrible, he probably just got there on the river a lot, so if checked too we can check back, or put in a really small bet and plan to fold to a raise. As played, bet like 90-100 and fold to any sort of big raise. if you are not comfortable folding to a raise, then i'd just check it back.

Bet on the flop is fine, i'd go a little smaller though, i want to pot control this as much as possible.

don't raise the turn, just call and treat it like a check, same for the river. You just turned your hand into a bluff here, this is a line bad villians take all the time, and it's almost always a weak ace here, but call 30/call 30 is a fine line to take to get to a cheap showdown, he may have a weaker pair here as well that isn't the ace, but what we don't want to do is bloat the pot in these spots.

even if the turn was checked to we would likely either be checking, or betting really small for value/blocking bet for the river when we could check it back.

In the first situation i can't see him calling with many worst hands only like pocket pairs 55-99, bigger pairs than that I think he would have re-raised pre flop. He could also have 52 for a straight.
I think i would only call there.

In the second one i definitely think he has a weak ace and therefore you should try to see a cheap showdown.

Hand 1. Bet the turn. How do you expect to extract full value by checking behind? If he's going to fold, you're not very likely to get a lot from him on the river, either because he isn't strong enough to play a big pot or because the river kills your action.

Hand 2. Why did you raise the turn? And why to 285? I can see trying to get him off Ax or a flush draw, but before doing so, you should first ask yourself (a) how good or bad this goal is given the situation, (b) how likely 285 is to get him to fold those hands, and (c) what you plan to do if he doesn't fold.

Reverse your turn play in both hands and you're golden!

honestly though, I think turn play is the key difference between good and OK players. keep posting hands with difficult turn plays. it will help you a ton.
