My worry is that he may have limped with QJ... do you just do the same thing, get stacked, and move on with your life if that's the case? It was the first hand of the game, if that matters.

In any event, if going all in was the right move (with the very-near-to-nuts), you could at least correct bet sizing etc...

Thanks in advance!

you're right in thinking QJ is in his limping range, but that's only a tiny portion of his range, he most likely takes this same line with any queen (AQ,Q10 and worse) and occasionally overpairs though very unlikely he holds one or a jack, if he has QJ or QK suck it up move on, you made the correct decision and you should be getting it in every time.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Yea since he limped its unlikely he has AQ, so I was just getting worried when he kept going along with my betting.

Try not to think about the worst case scenarios when you are betting down like this. Players don't play like you do, so they are quite happy to drink some beer and call down three streets with middle pair.

Try to think about the whole range of our opponant at all times, could he have the nuts here? sure, but it's rare, compared to all the other garbage he can be calling with.

You are way ahead all throughout so why worry?

You should rather wish he would catch a decent hand or holds a decent hand on the flop, turn or river.

Yea I guess at heart I'm a weak player. Working on growing my cajones. Getting a critique on my mindset is useful, so thanks. I remember in phil gordon's little green book he said if you're dealing with set over set you just get stacked and move on wit it- I'm still working on being comfortable with those sorts of plays!
