BTN stats after 24 hands: VPIP 65 PFR 35 Limp 20 Post Flop AGG 3.50 Flop C-bet 100 Turn C-bet 100 StealPct 50

Later I made a note that he likes to steal every time from CO and BTN.

1. Do you guys think that defending the BB with 89o is too loose?
2. Is folding the Turn ok?

Depending 98o against a small raise from BTN is standard, and certainly we are not going to overfold to someone with those stats. Yes its a small sample but enough to label this guy as a recreational action happy player.

Flop
Folding is out of the question, when you flop a gutshot with two overs. Especially against someone, who can have almost anything, because it mean, that if you do improve to top pair, you are almost always good. So its either call or raise, and the decision to raise depends on, if you think, he is ever going to fold anything, or if he will always fight back at you. If you are going to get 3-bet by his A high, then obviously you just want to call, but a check-raise should at least be considered, since it is often a good line with bad draws on a low board like this.

Turn
Check-fold is fine. You pick up a flushdraw, but the issue is, that if you improve now to either a flush, a straight or a pair, you still have no idea, where you are, and you are still behind even to his bluffs like A high, Q high etc.

Agree with above with the added note that his flop bet was so small that it left you priced in. 1/2 pot bet on the flop and I might be more willing to let it go then.

But bailing on the turn? Right thing to do.
