After a win against West Virginia last week, the Orangemen returned home to face Rutgers in the Dome. Syracuse won 84 to 80 in overtime thanks to clutch free throws by Brandon Triche and Kris Joseph. Overall, not a very strong game for the Orange against a team they should have dominated. Inconsistent play by Scoop Jardine is one problem.
Note: Jim Boeheim got his 850th win last week at West Virginia, second to Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (891) among active coaches. All of Boeheim’s wins have been at Syracuse where he has been head coach since 1975.
