Hi friends. I'm looking for a unique HUD that only shows the stats for the current tournament being played. We all know that people get better, get worse, or just switch their style up from tournament to tournament. So is there a such thing? Or do any have the option of just seeing the current tournament being played? Not really a fan of the lifetime stats. I would almost prefer no HUD over lifetime stats HUD. Thanks everyone.

I may even be talking nonsense but the only room I know that has its own hud is GGpoker, but in other rooms like pokerstars and 888, you have to use one of the huds available on the market. Good luck at the tables.:)

clarification

To clarify.......

I'm not looking for a site with a HUD built in. I'm in the USA, so I'm very limited on the sites I can play on. I'm just looking for a single tournament HUD. One that restarts the stats over with each tournament. Lifetime stats can be deceiving in some instances. For instance......Random player loves to play poker and has been playing for 15 years, constantly making bad decisions and losing lots of money. Then he decides to try to figure what exactly he is doing wrong, takes a few classes, and improves dramatically. Now that 15 years of data is pretty much irrelevant, since he is much better this year than the previous 15 years. I'm wondering if there is a HUD that just tracks the stats of a single tournament. When starting a new tournament, stats would always start over fresh at all zeros.

You aren't going to get enough data in a single tournament to get a handle on a player's tendencies.

You really need 1000 hands dealt which gives you about 200-250 hands played. And even then you are only going to get decent data when it goes to showdown because only then do you know what cards they had. So you would maybe get 80-100 usable data points. And that isn't near enough to put someone on a range.

You want to get a feel for who you are up against? You need as much data as you can get over time. Lifetime is the way to go.

FYI, I use PT4 as do most of us.

HM3 and PT4 have an option in the 'Table HUD' to switch everyone else's HUDs from lifetime to session stats. Hero HUD always shows table session stats so you have an idea of your image at that specific table.

Edit: Most people prefer to see lifetime data on opponents for both cash and tournament so that is the default setting in HM3/PT4 and most other 3rd party HUDs.

I think you should be looking at lifetime stats otherwise they will not be very meaningful. Session stats are great for stats like vpip and pfr, but stats like 3b, fold to 3b, 4bet, etc may take a much longer time to become meaningful.

PT4 has this feature.
You just doubleclick the stats display and it highlights the stats for only that session/tournament.
To switch back doubleclick again or reset from the PT4 logo dropdown menu.

Thanks everyone

Thanks to everyone that replied. I definitely understand lifetime stats are more efficient, but its just not for me. I would much rather see the stats for just the current tournament. Im thinking about doing away with HUDs all together. After all, online poker should be used for practice, though it can be financially beneficial. Looking at it as just practice...... Then really I shouldn't be using a HUD. After all, there won't be a HUD available to use at the Casino. Thanks again everyone.

I would recommend Drive HUD because of its price and you get 30 days free trial you find details in this thread here.
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-software-tools-61/drivehud-poker-hud-database-software-298263/

On most HUDs you can toggle on and off lifetime/table stats.

While HUDs are great for on the table tool the biggest benefit in my opinion is for learning, improvement and practice of your own game.

Also, you can get DriveHUD 2 for free by making a short video using it:

Betonline offers a free hud, though I only play cash there so I dunno if it works for tourneys. There is an option to display all history or only current session. If the hud works for tourneys then I imagine it will show what you are looking for.

When you say "lifetime stats" is this a literal statement -- ie, every hand that player has ever played online -- or does it mean every hand that player has played against the PT4 user?

I have read several reviews/comparisons but have not seen this feature explained.

Thank you.

When I say lifetime data I am referring to the data you have in your active database, for hands you have played against that player. There are also some HUD Filters in the HUD Options that can reduce what you see of their lifetime data based on whatever settings you apply.
