Hey I'm new to poker software. The only trial I've used is the SNG wizard. I'm curious if I buy the hand history converter do I have to already have Poker Tracker or another program for it to be used? What are my options?

Yes, you need a poker database. The application is specifically designed to get he hands into an importable format for HM, PT, etc... This was you can review you hands and stats.

Do you need a database in order for the Catcher HUD to work?

New version up. We're going to be adding a download reminder also in the next version. So if you haven't grabbed hands in 7 days, there will be an option to have it remind you to grab your hands. I know I need this feature. :)

I recently purchased the converter but I'm having a problem. I'm not sure if it's because of the converter or HM2. I only play SNG's and when I get them into HM2 they're almost all messed up. Either they're incomplete HH's or sometimes they're merged. I'll be two hands into reviewing one and I'll just jump seats and start over or I get to the bubble and all of a sudden it just ends. Any suggestions?

Can you send me some hands? I'd have to see what's going on, but there shouldn't any issues. At least there's not any known issues I've seen.

I'm currently running trial versions of HM2 and PT4. It's not having the same problem on PT4. So I suppose I'll just stick with PT, problem solved!

Thanks

Hmmm.... ok, it's probably a config setting in the converter or database, but if you have it working on the one you want that's fine. There's not any known issues with the converter right now, so both databases work just fine.

Click to download the trial and just install on top. We'll put it up as an auto update soon as well.

Strange occurrance at Bovada

Last week Bovada went down in the AM hours pacific time. I was registered for some tournaments and did not want to lose my buy-ins so I called support. They said that the whole site was down and the tourneys would be cancelled so I would not lose my buy-ins. This is where it gets weird....while the site was unresponsive, I could still watch the cash games (would not let me register to play them though). On each one of the active cash games, there were still 2 to 3 players. Their play was very cut and dry with a lot of value bets and folds preflop...went back and fourth, back and fourth with no real winners. Very strange to watch such bland play; meanwhile, chat was still working and you could see others trying to pop into the room and chat some before getting pushed out due to the outage. There were many chats asking, "how did you guys get in to play?," and "hey, say something so we know you're not bots!" It was very strange!!!

Anyway, did anybody else notice this event and also think that it was a little strange??? I hope it doesn't indicate what it seems to indicate. Anybody??

Yeah, that's odd. They might have been on a different server that didn't go down. But I want to keep this thread to the bovada hand converter support. Appreciate the post though.

Just FYI for all PT4 users. If you're using the latest update: 4.12.1 there's a confirmed bug with rake calculation. I just spoke with PT this morning. So if you're getting pot size errors, I'm told there will be a fix in the next release this coming week. I don't have any other details beyond that.

The other option is you can go to V4.11 or earlier, but PT doesn't recommend that. I did go from 4.11 and had zero errors with some hands that were sent to us, then upgraded to 4.12 and got the same errors. PT confirmed this as well. I haven't tried going back and forth myself as I don't have v4.11 anymore. I think it was an auto update when I had that. But that's the situation right now. Our hands are tied until the fix is out.

FYI, Poker Tracker put out a release for their rake calculation bug. So if you were having issues this past month with the converter giving you some errors, this should be resolved in PT4's latest release. It was put out this week.

Recently I've decided that instead of importing my hands daily that I would instead import them weekly. The first time I did it went fine I think but the second time not so much.

When I imported my HH yesterday I was missing 3/4 of what I had played that week. Now my stats are all jacked up. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

You probably missed some because the date expired.

I've thrown out there to have a reminder message that would let users know when their expiration is approaching, but nobody seemed interested so I scraped the idea.

Do you know how long you have before your histories on bovada expire? When you go to download them it goes back 31 days and I only waited a week. Also, since I've uploaded last week's hands my roi% is all over the place. It's scribbled up and down my entire graph.

The download expires after a week. They are viewable in the client for up to a month.

TY...

FYI for PT4 users... there's a new .38 version up of the converter as of yesterday. If you have a recent version of PT4, you'll need to update to avoid import errors.

are you pretty much guaranteeing that all pocket cards will be shown?

I dont want to buy the product, only to find out that the primary reason for me buying it, only works "sometimes". I checked out the demo, and it worked the first time - then afterwards, everytime I ran the hand replayer, it would not show everyone's hole cards. Only cards that went to showdown were shown.

I want to be able to see EVERYONE's cards. Please help by answering this question before I decide on buying it. Thank you.

If you are using version .8079 or earlier of HM2 or the latest PT4, then known hole cards will be shown for every opponent. It says this in the software itself.
