I am not sure where the problem is, I suspect it's something in pt4, but I recently reconverted all of my hands. I am having problems with pt4 not recognizing sessions. The hands are all showing up in the database, but the session information is missing or wrong (displays 1 hand).

I have made a new database and am currently in the process of reimporting all the hands. I will let you know if that clears this up. But, something is weird.

I created a new database and imported all the hands into it. That seems to have cleared this up. I don't know what the original cause was.

Stinks that the PokerTracker team doesn't allow people to have the choice to pick what is important for them. Some people might value the hands being seen over the ability to see their correct equity. Other people might feel the reverse. They should be allowed to choose.

Tbh it's not a relevant issue because PT4 doesn't support Bovada software in the first place. They can't force you to not import it using something else, but they can still ask to not promote use of their software in a way they don't intend. Don't think they can realistically enforce it, but they can ask nicely.

Once you purchase the software, how you use it as a customer is completely up to you. PT can choose not to endorse any 3rd party software or can nullify any guarntee or warranty as they see fit, but how and what you use the software for, as long as you are not re-selling it, is up to you. It's this way in any market with any product. They chose otherwise, I don't agree with how it was handled, but it is what it is at this point.

I don't disagree with anything you've said above ^

I was simply replying to vinnie, and suggesting that PT has no obligation as a company to provide support for Bovada, and as such, has no obligation to provide additional features when 3rd party software essentially fills in a gap that lets PT4 "support" Bovada in a limited way.

Yes, I was just adding a little more to it to and stealing your quote. ;)

Thanks!

The converter works with PT3/4 is that's what you're asking.

So we have a beta version of tournament support. We did a bunch of testing so far and it looks good, but I'm putting it up on here for anyone interested. You can download it here:
http://acepokersolutions.com/files/Bovada_Hand_Converter_SetupBETA.exe

Quick change log:
1) S&G and MTT support added for Holdem and Omaha. If your 24 hour trial is up, then you need to purchase a tournament license to use it.
2) Zone poker support added. Click the settings button to enable or disable zone hands importing as PS zoom.
3) Removed errors for partial HH's where you sat out a hand and Bovada was creating partial HH's which the converter was logging as an error.
4) Changed default HH folder for processed hands so it's not a sub folder of the primary conversion folder (mostly for PT users).

I have my stuff from storage = access to Windows = downloaded the hand converter.

So, it's possible I'm doing something wrong in the import process, but I believe I followed the import tutorial exactly. The converter works and successfully converted my hands, but PT4 gives me a similar warning on every single hand:

"Warning: Tribeca: Unrecognized game type: <position>: <action>"

Any hints on how to fix this?

Well I also should add that I played the hands originally on a Mac, then sent the .txt files over to the Windows, but that shouldn't have made a difference except in directory (I made what I thought was the appropriate directory change).

I'm already out of my 24 hours trial though, and I'd much prefer not spending money on it when I'm not guaranteed it will work.

I'm not in the habit of selling things that don't work... so it works 100%. You can check threads on other sites to validate that info. We had some issues when we added tourney support, but those are all worked out now.

I bought it a few days ago and it started working. I changed nothing in my method. Not sure what made the difference.

I'd also like to point out that I wasn't insulting you or your product, simply pointing out my experience with it and the reason for my hesitation.

Bovada on Mac to HH Converter to PT or HM

Glad to find this thread.

Can someone offer advice on what software to run on my Mac(s), to run the converter, to enter hand histories into PT or HM, please?

Also open to suggestions about which tracking software will work better with this convoluted process, HM or PT?

You can run Bootcamp to run Windows software. Personally I had issues with this and know others who did too. I used a trial of Parallels at one point, which I liked, but slowed down my computer a lot. It's also on the expensive side. I haven't done much investigating into other options. WINE is a non-emulator that allows you to run Windows programs, but has been hit or miss for me depending on which program I'm trying to run.

FYI, the latest update of the converter (.18a), you may have to re-register the converter. When we added tournament support, we needed to change the licensing. This will occur once, and it won't happen for every user.

That happened to me like 1 or 2 updates ago. Wasn't an issue - just had to search for the email with the registration info (maybe 2 min process).

I may be using Parallels on my Mac soon instead of using my crappy old dell. Since I've already purchased the software, will I be able to register it on my Mac (through Parallels) or will that be an issue for me?

We just put a new version up with some tournament fixes, and interface changes. You have to get it directly from the site, but .19 is out now.

In case anyone ends up with a similar question as me - I just ended up using the same registration info and it worked fine. Thanks again for a great product.
