WSOP Qualficiation - Age

Just out of curiosity more than anything...

I'm 18, which means it's legal for me to play poker online, but I wouldn't be able to play in Vegas.

If I did (by some miracle) qualify for the wsop, would they look at my age and give it to second place, or would I be allowed to keep $12k in cash?

That will just depend on the site you are playing on. Some of the smaller sites probably wouldn't allow you to unregister because they want as many players wearing their swag there as possible because they don't have as much of a userbase. As far as the big sites, I know ou can unregister and take whatever the $ equivalent is. One guy I know has gone through and won all 10 Step Tourneys on UB twice, so the first time he took the WSOP and the 2nd he just took the cash.
