Playing in pokerstars is only worth because of cardchat's daily games - guess i dont even want to know what would happen if they are gone one day ...

I love to play at Pokerstars, I like the different games you can play, besides Holdem, I like the many different formats, and speeds of play, the software and I find most of the players to be polite and incredible good all round players,
Other sites may try to emulate what Pokerstars does for Poker, but to be honest I find them to be the best On-line poker site I have played on, and I have tried quite a few.
Over the years there has been a lot of controversy's about on-line poker sites, and the links to organised crime, and Money laundering etc, etc, But Pokerstars has risen above all that and I do not think they would be involved in any such scandals.
They sponsored many live Tournaments and a lot of televised games, admittedly the focus of On-line Poker has changed since the Pandemic and many live games have been stopped but I am willing to bet when they do return to some kind of normality, Pokerstars will be in the front of all the other sites.

PS has a large player pool, the software interface design is excellent, and the update time will not be long. Withdrawal and deposit speed is extremely fast, and overall, I have a very good experience

For me, poker stars is not the best poker room, but I have to play in it because most of the home games are played at poker stars. Most of all I prefer 888 poker room for playing.

It's a really good question.
For me, I think it's an overall result of a combination of things:
1.) I've been playing there for many years, and have only had one problem. This was caused by them, and they apologized by personal email. (This wasn't a general software problem, where everyone is involved. It was just me.)
2.) I complained one day about a member who had an icon of a dog, with a gun to it's head.
They emailed thanking me for the information, and that they would review their procedures, as this kind of thing is what they don't want on their site. They contacted me the next day, and advised that they had contacted the member, and had him take the icon down, or he would be banned.
3.) (but really #1) Honesty, and integrity Except for the usual crying, and whining about "bad beats", and "rigging", I have never seen any serious accusations against PokerStars.
4.) Value tournaments are plentiful, especially on Sunday(s).
5.) Variety of games. They have way more than any other site.
6.) They are pretty transparent when it comes to bots, and cheater software. They provide a list of what is and isn't acceptable
7.) Customer service is quite responsive with personalized e-mails. Unlike party poker where you get their stock "We're escalating your inquiry".
8.) Payouts are the fastest that I've seen, and I've never had any trouble with them, unlike other site that make you do triple toe loops, quadruple jumps, and sit spins, before you get your payout.
I just have a good overall feeling about PokerStars, and yet, I prefer to play 888, simply because I find it's more fun there.

I think its the best pokersites. If i realize there are no special things. But overall i enjoy the layout. The lobby is clear and everything is easy to find. The various game typs i also enjoy. The test something and if the people like it would be there allways. So you could play spin and go and now grand tour. And there exist the wonderful daily freeroll from cs.

I played several thousand hours before joining PS. Played a little known site called Pokerhost. Once I got to stars I played because the games were soooo juicy, bro. Early-mid 2000's.
These days I cannot for the life of me figure out why I still play stars, other than habit.

For sure, PokerStars is still the biggest poker room in the world. It has the best software, the best tournaments, an amazing micro stakes grid, SnG at all times. Last year it lost ground to the GGPoker network, but largely because of restrictions imposed on players, as it doesn't have the entire US audience, and the GG network basically owns all of Asia.

I learned to play poker several years ago at Pokerstars, and it is still the best room for me in terms of software and functionality. Here you can play all types of poker, both in cash and tournaments of different formats, a convenient search system, you can transfer money to friends so that they also play, and most importantly, there are home clubs where I can play with them and have a good time.
