So like some of the members of thsi forum know, I joined this site as I went busto on bodog and was taking a break. that happened about 2 weeks ago and tongiht I decided that I have been away from the game long enough and it's time for me to start playing again.

So i log into bodog and click on cashier and then deposit; expecting the screen with the option for me to just use instant check to fund my bodog account, only to notice that it's not there. Instead of that option, there lies many weird and shady 3rd party sites as options and after reading that neteller or mansion poker no longer accepts US deposits either, I'm really sketched out right now.

I'm looking to deposit around 400 bucks so I'm not sure if these sites recommended by Bodog are actually safe and scared that maybe in a couple months I wont be allowed to even take my money out!! What am i supposed to do!!!?!?! I feel like online poker in the US is spiraling out of control because of dumb politics and the BUSH ADMINISTRATION because they can't do anything right for their lives. I mean, they care more about online poker WHICH THEY CAN SIMPLY TAX AND MAKE BILLIONS which they'll probably waste on the WAR or funding the charity for bush's daughers coke addiction. i'm so enraged at this stupid and idiotic bastard that I can't believe they're making such a big deal. and right now im a angry drunk.

i dont think there is enough money in poker for people to make enough money if they are raked by the site & then taxed on top of it ;/

That's the current politics and we all can't do much about that right now.
I don't agree with them most of the time, almost all of the time, but I am just a small fish in the pond so they don't care what I have to say about their so called "war of terror" and current high gas prices, damn.
That's all made to make them rich and to be end their admin in the office with bigger pocket and huge chank of money.
They don't care about us, I guess.

I am not a politician by any means.

But I do love to play poker.
Online of live, they can't stop me.

Good luck at the tables and let's win some.

Sincerely,

Dino

The B&M casinos are getting the shit taxed out of them. The City of Checter WV was going bankrupt 15 years ago and now they are booming after the casino came in. They are building schools, hired an entire police force, built 2 new fire departments and are now talking about building a city owned amusement part. The city is making about 500% (cant remember the exact figure) more in taxes after the casino came into town. The problem the US government is having is that they cannot control online gambling and they dont want something around that they cant control.

Don't worry so much - Bodog wouldn't recommend sites that it hadn't thoroughly checked out. You can always use prepaid visa cards which have no risk associated with them at all, because you pay for the card, use it and then can dump it.

I deposited on Bodog today using NUCharge. It sounded a little weird, basically you buy a phone card then deposit the value onto Bodog. Anyway, it worked. As for withdrawing, checks are where its at. It will be virtually impossible for banks to do anything about checks. I've received them from Sportsbook.com and a few other places before, nothing to identify as a gambling site.

We might have to be "low tech" in a high tech world for a little while, but I'm not letting the politicians win! Shuffle up and deal!!

You gotta blame the government, its a free country and all, but you can't play poker for money. Or pretty much do half the stuff you'd like to do wthout breaking some sort of law or having to go through a maze of paperwork.

Proposal;
For an additonal rake of one cent (.01$) per hand where any US player is sitting at the table. This money would be paid to the US and the site would be exempted from the recent gamming act.
Additionally, any player would be limited to depositing some amount (to be determined) per day, or week, month or year. This could be a percentage of the average bankroll any player has maintainted.
An agency of the US government would certify each site, for a cost. Certification would include verifying a random shuffle and deal, and verifying payouts.

Even at 1 cent per hand, this would cover government costs. There are many millions of hands per day at stake.

Before party poker went out of the US market, I heard the CEO say that there was $185 million per DAY bet there. They raked about 10%.

Even if the rake to the government was 1%, it would barely dent those numbers.

Seek sanity in indulgences.

The alternative would be to illegalize moralizing. Incidently, that would be my prefered method.

Alternate Proposal:

Institute a "US handling charge" for US origination transfers. Small percent (1%) Min $1 max $25. Financial institue gets first $XX for "handling fee" + 25% thereafter. (to pay for their record keeping) ALL US destined withdrawls/deposits recorded on 1099-Misc...since winnings are taxable ANYWAY and LOSSES are deductable upto winnings amount

Basically, treat it like "playing the market"... and while your at it... give players the same "long term capital gains rate" break that BushCo gave to their friends... flat 15% REGARDLESS of total gross
