I think poker has a delicate ecology and its important to have different levels of players on a site.

You need the sitter limpers to feed the free rollers, and the free rollers feed the micros, micros to feed the low stakes, low stakes to feed the mid stakes, and mid stakes to feed the high stakes.

definitely lose some users. my contact time with the App is only to do spin of the day and I'll only play a game if I win money from free spins. I don't even have interest in playing the satellites anymore

This is a disgrace, the room does not take into account the opinions of the players.

I think Pokerstars is whittling out it's cheap players and only concentrating on those who are bringing in the money and profits.
It's been a gradual change to their website, particularly the chests.
When I joined in the Covid years, I'd usually gain a chest at least once a week.
Now it's more difficult to do so, but I would also say, the chest is activated by how much money you deposit.
I hardly add any these days, whereas a couple of years ago, I was depositing every couple of weeks.
Freerolls aren't bringing in the money.....

it's good for them but bad for us .
some people will continue to play for money but those without the green paper will tend to move to other sites.

I don't have much time for there satellites or this power path stuff. I'm a bit perplexed why they done away with freerolls as it is a good way to attract new players. Obviously we cannot see whether these players make deposits and if it is worthwhile for stars. But it does seem they want to get rid of free loaders and concentrate on the spenders.

Well they have removed country after country, my country norway can't play anymore. So I don't care if they go broke.

GG Poker and ACR my only option now, and WPT

Like bars , restaurants and sports clubs ,online poker sites come and go, even the best and original ones . Times, habits and trends change . Sadly , PS seems to be on a downward spiral .They may be sold again or merge with another network .

It’s their business what model of business they wish to implement. Nobody has a right to play any freeroll per se. Just be thankful for any freerolls any company give. You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Take nothing for granted.

Why not start playing $0.50 & $1 tournaments?
Exactly. If you really love poker that much, then why is it a problem to pay $0,50 or $1 to play a tournament? If you are a decent player, you will get most of the money back in the long run or even win. So why does it have to be free to play? Do people also expect to get free cinema tickets and think, the cinema is the worst ever, if they stop handing them out?

888 Poker have way less MTTs, way less cash game volume (with higher rake) and no SnGs. So 888 is only better, if your sole priority is to play freerolls. For everyone else PokerStars is far superior to 888 Poker with much better game selection and better software. PokerStars also have faster payouts and much better security.

I haven't played since then and only opened the client 4-7 times too. I just don't feel like playing the real money games there anymore either. They have totally fallen to irrelevancy for me and I know many others.

Remember that when PokerStars was owned by Rational Group and they were the most charitable site and also owned over 80% of poker market. Nowadays they are literally only seen as this big deal because of their previous status, if seen from newcomers perspective they are just one medium sized poker site with more formats than other sites.
