You could also try a site like Spadeclub or ClubWPT, you pay per month and keep any winnings from tourneys. Just another way you could go to control your bankroll while you practice.

I played a ton of freerolls everywhere starting out, and stuck around where I built my bankroll.

I would say Bovada. Stay any. and no software can be used there. It's perfect if you want to start off fresh for online poker

I done real good at Full Flush when I started playing there, and I still am. One $50 deposit, 2 withdrawals, and still have 3 time that much thanks to these last two wins. I also know others that have done good there. But it's really what you get used to. GL

I think it is important to learn, read, watch footage from the tournament. If you learn, then it does not matter in which poker room play. Start with small stakes.

Full Tilt is as good as it gets, if you can't figure out how to make money there then there is no hope.

Also, thread necromancy is an ugly thing.

I would say 888 poker is he best site for beginner , you will find some easy games with a passive/ agressive loose players, but after you will find games on the others site more and more rigged ( specially pokerstars and fulltilt )

If Ill compare:

Beginner --> Pokerstars

Regular --> Fulltilt

Why? Its my experience but may depend on others.

You can try almost any where there freerolls.
For me, difficulties arise only in the menu (only at the beginning).
Interesting tournaments are different everywhere

i would think bovada would be the best suited for beginners, no huds allowed, no names, you can play fewer tables(less regs) and they have a sportsbook -so sunday should be your fun day during football season

FullFlush seems good for beginners with its " recreational model" lol. You may want to try there for starters

Pokerstars and Fulltilt are not good for a beginner but you would learn quicker playing on these sites as they have the better players

888 promotions are among the best, but they are working on software is not enough.
Maybe I'm not objective?
But the main thing that-be all work stably, and have it work.

Its funny to see the way things have changed in four years reading the above posts. 888 now offers 8 dollars when you join so its likely on top right now.

888.com

pokerstars is filled with regs lately

Lately? Since forever you mean :)

BTW try unibet: only site (that I know of) that it's impossible to use poker software, so you can't be tracked by professional grinders!

You can change your name three times a day, so everybody is equal there, no poker software even possible!

Play on stars if you can, or full tilt. that would be what I recommend for where you live.

So many tourneys available at small buy ins, and insane guarantees.
