Realistically, when do you think online poker will be legalized in the USA?

I am talking about in all states, or at all of them except some weird state like Iowa lol... I am just wondering do you think this is a matter of months, years, or ever? What is all of your thoughts?

IMO its just a matter of time and individual states stepping up to legalize and license online poker sites. The domino effect will happen just like we will hopefully see with cannabis laws as well.

The time frame is not an easy question and I'm sure as shitaki that my state will not legalize it for a long long time.

It is not likely to ever be in all states in my opinion - or at least not in the foreseeable future. If so we are probably talking at least 5 years since there is nothing in the works at all to make it happen.

States will keep trickling in slowly.

all states take at least more than 5 years!
think the process will be quick recently based on the news in some large poker population states like NY, CA, etc etc.
I don't know WA will have a chance, there the law is pretty strict against on line poker.

It is legal now, in most of the states. It does have way way more hassle involved than any of us want, but Carbon, for instance, is busier than the Nevada sites.

If what you really mean is a multi-state, or international pool of players like we all want, well, don't hold your breath. Many states will jump on a bandwagon, but until they fail ( and most will) they will want to keep themselves isolated.

Once a few states pool their players and start making serious money, other states will follow along. I'd guess 3-4 years there will be a majority that have it available. The majority of lawmakers just don't give a S*** about what people want. It would take a lot of people with money to convince them

lol I will believe it when I see it. They got approval for a casino years ago and have not been able to find a place to put it.

Funny thing. Early this year, there was a big hullabaloo about finally starting on teh NEW Bicycle Casino!. Governor Brown was there and most would assume building would start like immediately. Been in the works for years. They've had a model in the lobby for years. Went last week, and saw nothing happening at all. SO I asked about it, got funny looks, then the TD told me they were already building it (somewhere) and just waiting for it to arrive. WTF! (was the look on my face). He went on to explain it will be a prefab. Model has 5+ floors.

So maybe they are prefabbing your casino too Pam.

I think it won't be too long. The market is too big to not allow it for much longer. Couldn't stop alcohol almost a century ago, wont' be able to stop online poker for much longer.

Alcohol involves the majority of the population, regulated gambling doesn't come close.

5 years minimum if not more. The problem is all the hassles and regulations. But one has to think, if ot was more regulated if the whole full tilt incident would of even happen. Im sure it would of but to what extent.

Bitcoin will collapse before OLP in the US is anywhere near what we want. Bitcoins are not good for OLP, Since politicos are looking for reasons to kill it, any biz that would rely on, or want to rely on bitcoins, which is inherently untraceable, would not get any politicians favor.

I think it will be about 3 years before we will be able to play online, they know they are missing out on a lot of money from taxes, so I would say soon, but always so much legal stuff to go threw!
