PokerStars World Record Week-10k player SNGS/$10k added

There are now the first two open of no more than ten total that will be running. One is regular (10 min rounds, 2k chips); the other is a turbo (5 min rounds, 2k chips). Both have the slower blind structure as well. Based on the break schedule posted it looks like these games are anticipated to run in the 5-6 hour mark (though I'd guess the turbo would be faster). 1st place payout is $2350 and tourney pays top 15%.

These look ok actually. Especially the regular one. 2000 starting chips with 10minute blinds is better than I'm used to anyway Not gonna be able to play in the ones registering now. Need some shut eye Hopefully though I'll be able to play in one tomorrow....

Noooooes! The normal blinds one got up to 5.5k in about 30 min but now it's down to 4.7k and waning.

As of 8:31 PS Server time the non-turbo has 7920 registered and the turbo has 3596 registered.

Well the non-turbo 10k SNG has been running for one hour now (just went on 1st break). In just one hour 4965 players were eliminated...so just about 1/2 of them. I'm thinking about 5-6 hours to finish a non-turbo is about right then.

So for anyone morbidly curious in the numbers (like I am), the 1st 10K non-turbo SNG just went on 2nd break with 1763 players remaining. So not quite to the money after two hours (1500 paid).

I am doing much better in the turbo SNG. Only 200 left to get into the money, about an hour and a half in. People are pushing some crazy stuff but it has slowed down recently.

I am 235 / 1600 at the moment

As I continue to track this once per hour, I see they are now on their 3rd break and there have 607 players remaining (just a few people shy of tier 3 payouts).

I went out in 576th place at 1 hr 52 minutes.

The turbo is into its 2nd break now. Only 308 players left, I am 150th with just below avg chip stack.
Finished in 139th place for $24, not bad for a $1

Unlike tomorrow's Guinness game, these are only 9 seat tables.

Well that first one that I've been tracking is coming up on 6 hours now (that's including the breaks) and they are down to 30 people.

Wow I was really excited about these SnG's (before I knew my visa card wouldn't let me deposit anymore, nor the gift cards that I have!). Now that I see the numbers, it really does not seem that pleasant of a tournament anymore. 10,000 people, you have to beat out 8,500 to get to the money and it really isn't worth it unless you place in the top 100......

I don't know. It's not such a big waste of time because unless you do finish in the decent money you'll only have to put in two hours. I am going to try again when the next turbo one starts.

For those who have played in one of these 10,000 player sit & go's, how many people are "sitting out" by the time the sit & go starts? Are there a lot of zombies?

actually no there were very few zombies if any at all on the tables I played. Played in 2 and cashed in both...nothing to significant but a few extra bucks none the less and they were much fun.

I didn't see any sit-outs at all in either of mine. But you have to play more than 2 hours to finish decent in the money. It took me longer than that to win $2.
