You're using a laptop correct? Are you using a wireless router? I recall when I first began using a wireless router that PokerStars support informed me that I might have some connection issues on account of the wireless router (I forget all the technical mumb jumbo.. I'm a semi-old fart & was near computer illiterate prior to playing online poker). There was something about > some routers would experience more troubles than others.... but also something about > it should/could/might improve if I just log off & on the PokerStars site a bunch of times. Within a few days it was working similiarly in comparison to Fulltilt (but the first couple/few days did kinda suck now that I think about it..... had forgotten all about this). Maybe this is what's goin' on for ya? (I too have an insanely fast internet connection... so I knew it had nothing to do with that).
I'm actually primarily playing on a desktop wired via ethernet cable, so no wireless signal drops. I don't think I'd trust my wireless router with something like real money poker -- the thing is a $20 POS and is so unreliable. I swear, some days I've wanted to drop-kick that thing from the roof of my house.
I think I am running pokerstars at full speed now, but I just needed to get acclimated to the PokerStars software -- the differences in card animations and whatnot. Now that I've been playing on their software a few days, it's starting to feel more natural. Activating the "single-click" option also helped a ton.
That said, I think my preference for look and feel is still for Full Tilt, but I like a lot of the other options and some of the games that PokerStars offers.
