Full tillt to follow suit in state of washington?
Was wondering the same thing. Any reason for them
all not to?
I did some research on this and some reading on various sites and it seems like this is an act to help support casinos in Wa. state. Reading between the lines, it seems that the tribes in the pacific NW have some political influence and are using it to ban online poker to theoretically bring more business to their casinos. The state is all messed up anyway...apparantly the pro online poker players claim (correctly) that poker is a skill game and since horse racing is legal....online poker should be as well. The Wa. state legislature rules that horse racing ISNT gambling....that should tell you all you need to know about how dirty bill is. I'm sorry to our players in Wa. state and hope that common sense eventually prevails.
It's disgusting how the politicos have no shame whatsoever spewing their illogical rationale as to what constitues gambling. Like they even give a rat's ass about human gambling rights
at all. Like we are too stupid to realize the casino and race track owners are lining the pockets of these spin doctoring puppets. They are as corrupt as some state lotteries. If I see that freaking PA groundhog again this week, I may just shoot my TV. Cut that advertising budget and clean up the massive amount of garbage on our streets. The state can help. This is the only big city I've ever lived in that does not have street cleaning - nor many garbage pails. But I digress.
It is a violation of Wisconsin State Statutes to gamble online. It is a misdemeanor by statute. It remains unenforced, since I have played continuously since 2006.
Notice that Wisconsin is one of those states with a huge Indian population and numerous casinos they own. Unenforced, eh? Trust me, they are probably working on it. Happy to say at least
Pennsylvania voted online gambling to be a-okay. No misdemeanor. Home games too, all perfectly legal. However, this June a bill was passed for the casinos to allow poker tables, so that may all change. But we are very safe for now, and hoping it's harder to overturn something that has been specifically legislated as legal.
