I live in London, England and about 3 years ago I signed up to pokerstars.

Pokerstars allowed me to fulfill my love of playing poker, in addition to my love of the casino games, particularly, roulette and slots.

Initially I did not have any deposit limits on my Pokerstars account. However due to large roulette wins on Pokerstars and other sites, my deposits were often frequent and added up quickly.

Pokerstars has since imposed a deposit limit onto my account of $200 a month. And have requested that I complete a form providing my source of wealth income and my employment information.

However the form is very specific, requesting the details of my employer including their name, address and start date of my employment.

I have undertaken similar account/ source of wealth verification with other sites in England without providing such personal information. I don't feel comfortable at all providing such information.

I'd be interested to know if there are any other UK members who have had similar experiences or concerns.

The law requires PS to help against gambling addicition.
If the amount of deposits exceeds the winnings by far , PS sometimes impose a limit on players who are in red numbers.

I'm not from UK but no haven't experienced it myself my monthly deposit limit has always been 25000€ a month and withdrawal 49000€ per month

As well as to help against gambling addiction (most likely), it could be for anti money laundering purposes, especially if you are regularly withdrawing as well as depositing.

So have you ever been close fulfilling atleast one of them
Nowhere near lol . The most I could withdraw at once was 2300€.
Maybe If I combine all my winnings from the last 13 years yes then it probably would be more than 40k ^^

This is confusing because you say you had large roulette wins that resulted in frequent deposits. I would think that if you had large wins you would be making withdrawals not deposits.

Sorry for the confusion. I've had large wins across different gambling sites, which have contributed to my frequent deposits on Pokerstars.

My main issue is the personal details requested by Pokerstars regarding my employment. I don't feel comfortable providing such information.

I have undertaken the said process on my gambling sites in England and never had to provide such private information.

Poker sites are always working under extreme pressure from Governments and Law enforcement Agencies, from all over the World, As there are many different Countries with many different laws and practices, It is always difficult to appease everyone involved with On-line gambling, and I am sure PokerStars is probably one of the biggest On-line poker sites in the World.
However if a Country decides to change theirs Laws on certain things pertaining to On-lime Gambling, PokerStars has only 2 choices, Either adhere to the new Law, or Stop trading in that Country.
I have seen that some Countries will not allow some Poker sites operating in their Country, Also some Countries worry about possible "Money Laundering" Activities from Criminals, So it is a Minefield for many sites and of course their Legal Advisors, But I feel if any changes come from your Favourite poker site, they might not have choice in the matter, if the laws in your Country are altered in any way.
