Personally I dont care much about the reward program, since players in sweden are not eligible for any of it. And even if that was different, reward programs are kind of like feeding the dog with its own tail. So for me personally I would rather pay less rake in the first place. Its way simpler and more honest :)

Trying to figure out if I'd be better off at GG, my brain just melted. Probably not even worth bothering with, but I like to understand things.

On GG I could complete plankton and goldfish levels to become a bronze shrimp (lol wtf is this?), which would require a fair bit of volume for a couple of weeks, switch to the platinum program, become a platinum fish and take 20% thereafter.

pokerstars I'm going to be at 15% on this new structure, 17.5% at best.

Sounds like it would be worth switching to GG so far, but the rake on Stars is a little lower to begin with so that's a plus for Stars, and 100 points per $1 rake isn't guaranteed on GG. I don't know how much it varies, it's not very clear.

Is the rate I receive Fish Points fixed?
Players will receive up to 100 Fish Points (FPs) for every $1 paid in rake/fees. This value is based on various factors, including but not limited to game type, the tournament played, player behaviour at tables and deposit history.

They say games are softer on GG, but it's $2NL I play currently, can't see there being a difference. Bottom level is bottom level.

Maybe if I moved up a bit.

It looks as though the 40% rakeback challenges are going?

I'm currently silver (nearly gold!) For 57.5% rakeback.

Looking at the new system I am going to be either bronze or silver for just 17.5% or 20% rakeback. If that's the case I may as well play elsewhere!

As far as I can tell, yes.

How difficult did you find the challenges? Did you complete them every month, were they getting progressively harder to complete etc.?

I've never been at that level, but just doing some quick reading around people are saying that they found them hard to finish after a while. Possibly even more so for winning players as not everyone gets the same challenge apparently?

Recently the challenges have not been too bad $10 for 125 rake points which means raking $25. I have been completing it twice a week in recent weeks when I have been playing alot and once a week prior to that (mostly 25NL with a little 50NL and 10NL).

I have had the same challenge for quite a while now, but I remember previously PS would keep making it harder with a higher target and then they also dropped me to a 10% instead of 40% bonus as a winning player. I stopped playing at PS for a bit at this point and dropped chest level, before returning and getting back to silver.

I did not know this but it does not surprise me. There was a time I would have been very disappointed but since they quit giving out any coins in the blue chest I have not been able to play it anyway.

PokerStars Rewards is changing on January 22nd. Some of the changes affect some other features, so we want to let you know what that means for you.

Remove StarsCoin

  • Although StarsCoin has been a feature of PokerStars for many years, our review and research shows that the majority of our players prefer StarsCoin to direct cash or other rewards.
  • Therefore, we have decided to no longer offer StarsCoin as a reward.
  • On February 8th, your remaining StarsCoin balance will be converted into cash at the rate of 1 StarsCoin = $0.01.
Exit of Rewards store
  • As a direct result of the removal of StarsCoin, on February 8th, we will close the Rewards Store, where purchases could only be made for StarsCoin.
  • After the closure of the Jutalomáruház, the entire collection of our branded products will remain available at www.pokerstars.store . The PokerStars Store is a high-quality marketplace for stylish PokerStars branded products. The store offers premium poker accessories, clothing and high-quality lifestyle products, with new collections/products released quarterly.
Deduction of The Deal
  • As a direct result of the removal of StarsCoin, we will be discontinuing our progressive jackpot game The Deal on January 31st. This is because the game can only be played with StarsCoin.
  • The January 31 jackpot will be distributed among all players who have played The Deal since the last jackpot was won, based on the percentage of their StarsCoin contribution. Eligible players will be credited on February 3rd and sent an email notifying them of the value of their stake.
  • All players who played The Deal between January 31, 2023 and January 31, 2024 will be credited with a coupon to play in a special All-in Shootout for all remaining jackpot funds. Here, prizes are awarded in the form of Power Path coupons. Players will be credited with their coupon until February 6th and the All-in Shootout will take place in February. Players must enter the Shootout, but do not need to be online to play, and winners will be notified by email.

It's only 7c so worth at least trying (though your EV is probably 6.5c, so it's a losing play!)

I am delighted with the new rewards that will be given to me and I like the current ones, especially when there is no opportunity to top up the balance.

The positive from where I'm sitting is that whatever they do they could hardly make it worse... :ROFLMAO:

It's all downhill (or uphill [depending on your perspective]) from here! ;) :D

Has this been delayed? Cancelled?

Everything is still the same for me.

Edit: Nevermind, checked on Twitter, or "X". It has been delayed.

I wondered why everything was the same yesterday.

However no 40% rakeback challenge and no powerpath ticket either.

These changes are really bad for me so I'm taking a break from pokerstars. Sort of a silent protest against the new changes. I wonder if other regs will do the same. Also I am on a huge downsizing at pokerstars so I've had enough of the site for now!

They said it is already working now, but I don't see any changes, and still have my coins (?).
Maybe it'll take a while.

Edit: I exchanged my chests progresses on sunday, I'm not sure if it was smart or not 😅
