I've been on pokerstars for years and I have had a good run on Pokerstars (Ontario Only) since we got forced to migrate. But, for the last week I have been unable to play any games on Windows because Pokerstars can't confirm that I'm in Ontario. My android App still lets me play, even though I'm on the same wifi. I am not running any VPN software. I'm in Mississauga, well away from the border.
I have been trying to resolve the issue with support for the last few days. Here's a few of their "solutions" (none have worked):
- Reboot computer
- Reboot modem
- Do a clean reinstall of Pokerstars
- Download and run a file called "Pokerstars ON Player Location Check"
- Move your laptop to another location ( It's not capturing enough AP towers?)
- Call my IP provider because they claim my IP is in Frankfort Maine (It's not but I called anyways) IP provider says PS is mistaken

Has anyone else had this issue? Was there a solution or am I wasting my time at this point? 888 poker is starting to look pretty good now.

You can do an iplocater yourself just to confirm what your isp provider says.

That's a weird one. I hope it gets solved for ya.

I wish I were more help but you might try (after confirming location) uninstalling all wireless connections then letting them search again but that doesn't make sense why it would work. Is your phone connected to the wireless while playing?

I wasn't aware of this. Sucks for you guys. Is it because of all the MI/OH players getting addresses in Windsor?

Can you still play on the other sites with the rest of world or did we ruin that for you guys too?

Thanks for taking the time to help. Iplocator put me in Mississauga Ontario, which is the correct location. I tried going on Pokerstars on an older laptop and it worked, so I knew it was something on my new laptop that was interfering with Pokerstars geolocator. I ended up doing a virus and malware scan and, eureka, that fixed the problem.

NO, our Premier Doug Ford wanted a cut of those juicy online casino and sports betting profits to remain in the province. Before, our money was leaking out all over the world in what were really illegal gambling sites. There's still a few worldwide online poker rooms we can use, but, their legality is in question.
