Anyone else experiencing a lock out with pokerstars?

Recently I changed computers so I also at the same time closed my current Pokerstars account , notifying them by email and received verification I then went to new computer and opened a new account, then when I tried to deposit they locked me out...What in the world is wrong with their Security system? Obviously the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing??? Really I closed account and received verification it was closed then they lock me out because they say I have two accounts?? Go figure, maybe PokerStars should hire some trained IT people...:):):)

Just curious

Why did you felt the need to close your account completely just because you changed computers? Or did I understand you wrong? In my opinion there is no need for that.

I'm pretty sure they did that because they don't want people to change their screen names, which is effectively what you did.
"Changing your username is not possible

As part of our commitment to ensure a fair environment for all our players, it's not possible to change usernames.
This is because an important part of poker is knowing an opponent. The more you play against someone, the better you know their style of play, and therefore how to react to it. Changing usernames would allow a player to hide behind a new identity, and use their experience of how others play to beat them."

"Closing an account

If you're thinking about closing your account, keep in mind that you won't be able to create a new account in the future."

Apparently this is necessary to keep all of us HIGH ROLLER sharks from picking on all of the micro stakes fish. Franky I'd like to change my username because of all the incredibly bad and embarrassing plays I've made over the years. The sharks know I'm a great big fish.

I would think they'll let you reopen your previous account though if you ask,

Closing Account

Thanks for the reply and honestly I was not aware that they had rules against closing accounts or changing usernames, I guess I may now be locked out forever??Not sure if its my loss or theirs, lol

Regarding the change of computers, I also changed my email and internet server, I asked Pokerstars about changing my email and they never responded so I took the next best step and closed account, guess I'm screwed.:):):)

Ask them to open previous account. They will reopen. Of course if you want. Have you changed e-mail in your profile on Pokerstars?'? Cause you could.

Yes, you changed email and internet server, even computer. But you still wrote the same name, last name, address.
