OK, PS just mailed me back to say a major ISP (not named) had a connection pathway to PS fail but it was now fixed. I reported we still have issues, and asked them to look into it.
BT support have asked me to check if my home hub is still on…. Their support is useless, I am an IT networking guy by profession and I can even tell them where the link is broken but they just don't get it.
We may be in this for a while.
