At one time pokerstars used to run free tournaments using all the different variations of poker -- stud, draw, hold-em, razz, 2-7, horse, omaha, etc., and it was fun because not only could you dabble with these games, but you could also win tickets for weekend $2K freerolls.

While they were running these, I was living in Asia, and although I won almost 200 tickets, I rarely got to use them because the WR2 Freerolls (as they were called) were played in the afternoon EST, which meant they were happening in the wee hours of the morning where I was living, and I wasn't goimg to get up at 2 AM to play a freeroll.

New management stopped this promotion a few years ago, but the ticket have still been sitting there for ages. I thought that they'd delete them from my account by now, but they haven't. I suspect I'm not the only one who has some of these tickets left over from years ago and was wondering if anybody has found a use for them. Does the current management redeem them for star points or anything like that?

I doubt it - they aren't the best with customer service these days. But saying that, you never know until you try.

See what you can get from them and let us know. I have a few that I would try to redeem as well...not even close to 200 though!

Brings back a few memories.

That’s where I learnt to play the non Hold’em variants, like Razz, Stud Hi Lo, Omaha Hi Lo, etc. I found it very easy to qualify for the $2K free rolls, but also did not get to use them that often, due to the start times.

They are now more of a nuisance, in the “My Stars – Tournament Tickets” folder. It’s a wonder they don’t remove them. As I understand it, they are of no value.

Yes those were the days! I would like to see some of the cardschat freerolls in variants other than NL holdem. Maybe one day a week?

We have the same tale. It was fun getting to learn and play games I'd never seen or had much familiarity with, and I agree that grabbing tickets for the weekend freeroll was easy. It must have been if a poker player like me ended up with so many. :)

I'm not surprised that they're of no value. As management has changed at Pokerstars over the years, it seems they have become greedier and almost completely focused on hold-em games, rushing them through as fast as possible.

I completely agree that something other than hold-em would be welcome from anyone. Perhaps a HORSE tourney as it has 5 variants involved.

Ya, those are the ones.

Wow, over 10 years old and still sitting there. Why they don't or can't remove them is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps it would be such an administrative nightmare they just don't bother. That's the only thing I can think of at the moment.

If i had a ticket TEN YEARS old still in my window, for sure that i already mailed them about that: is it a bug? Did you forget to delete it?
Not that it will give me nightmares at night, but when something bugs me, i use all the means to deal with it, like contacting staff.

I don't think deleting them is an option. If so, it is one that I have never explored. These are relics of a bygone Era - even though it was only ten years ago. These are from before Black Friday when Stars was the only game in town, unless you count FullTilt. They were giving away tickets all the time. These tickets had no expiration date because the future was all sunshine and puppies. Stars was making a fortune (however dubiously) and there was no end in sight. Now, sites give away tickets with short expiration periods to "maintain fluidity of liquidity" or some such nonsense that the partypoker rep stated. I like having these tickets as souvenirs in my account. What would bother you so much about them being there?
