pokerstars crashed yesterday afternoon. A few tournaments were cancelled but it was back up in a couple of hours. Far from the first time this has happened.

Sometimes this happens even with the most reliable sites. No one is insured against technical problems. About once every two months, the PokerStars restarts the server, and then the tournaments are canceled and the next few hours of the tournaments are not held.

Yeah I noticed that, when I logged on to play SnGs, and the site would not let me register. First I thought, it was a problem with my client, but then I looked in the tournament section and saw, that all the tournaments in late registration phase were listed as "paused". Sucks for those, who were playing these tournaments, but its rare occurence, so nothing to get to worked up about. For me I just decided to take an evening off from poker and watch a movie instead

It's the only site I play on. I used to love the old Cryptologic software; Ladrokes had its own unique set up, then they all went to the same network, and the games went down the tubes.

Maybe they sometimes do this on purpose to create the illusion of deception or hacking, but in fact they are a plus, but this is only an assumption.

As I understand it, in this particular instance, the tournaments were paused rather than cancelled. So it was just an inconvenience for players, that the tournaments took more time to complete than normal. Those tournaments, that were supposed to start during the pause, were cancelled though, and then as always people just get their money back.

Yes, the tournament is suspended for some time or sometimes canceled due to technical malfunctions in all sites, not only pokerstars and this is likely to happen. If you are eliminated before the tournament is canceled you will get nothing of your money and if the tournament is canceled before you are eliminated you will get your money back or more.

i think it’s something to do with server resets …. They keep doing this all the time at what can only be said is more than inconvenient 😂 … they did it last night while trying to get some money on a horse (it won 🤦‍♂️) but I didn’t manage to get the bet on while on pokerstars I had to literally go into skybet to get it in 😂😂 like I said it won so I can’t get to man but it seems to be more and more regular these server resets .
