yes. you can do stuff like that, but the second you start talking about it it becomes explicit collusion.

These have been a great boost to my bankroll in the past 24 hours. I have "won" 6 in a row at the $10 buy-in. and now with the lower rake, they are even more profitable.

For some reason, I have found the $10 buyin to be a lot looser than the lower stakes. I wonder if most players don't practice good BRM and see it as their $10 SNG home game? If they lose their $100 BR, they just reload anyway.

But in the lower limits, players are there because the practice good BRM and if they know that, then they probably know a bit more about the game too.

P.S. I love the fact that pokerstars listens to its members and makes changes based on their feedback. They added turbos, varied the rake depending on the type of game, disabled chat, all within less than a week.

I was playing 1.10 but seems 5.20 just as easy to beat as you stated. I have won my past 4 5.20 entries.

They also seem to have gotten rid of the 2.20 games. Unless I am filtering wrong.

I cashed 3 of 4 of the $2.20 NHLE version of these.

Those seemed to have disappeared and now only the $1.10 and $5.50 versions appear to be there.

Ive played these nitty and tried one maniac, think Im 4/5 now or something, but they take too long for sure. Will try multitabling a bit for fun, but I think overall for time invested, you're better off in ring, SNG or MTT. Hmmmmm....

I don't like the chat being turned off....I feel, if someone colludes..and gets caught..freeze his account....they'd only have to do this for a day...it would get out...and that'd be the end of collusion on the tables anyhow.....

I remember a few years back...in World of Warcraft....instead of them enforcing their rules of not harrassing other players and banning them...they disbanded a "gay" guild.

That's what this chat ban is equal to, PokerStars doesn't want to enforce their own rules...so they punish everyone, but at the same time, they allow people to play 23 games at once who cannot keep up....and make everyone else wait while they get done folding on the other 22 tables.

I agree. Be sure to email support and voice your opinion as this is how it got turned off in the first place. I can see tunring off observer chat in some cases. But at the end of the game I like to say GG to the winners and when someone outplys another player I like to say NH. There is no reason that all chat is off even after the game is off because they do not want to do what you are saying.

I had my chat banned for cursing. Why couldnt they just chat ban the folks that have done these things as well.

While this game appears to be the best way to buil a BR at the moment I have to stop and wonder if it is hurting my game overall. I am finding that I play very tight which is a good thing but I also find that most of the time you rely on others playing very bad rather than you playing good. In places where I might go all in I have been folding simply because I know if will knock out another short stack and get us to the money. But am I am preparing myself for regular SnGs/MTT this way?

Don't get me wrong I am happy to be building a nice roll. But My ultimate goal it to become an all around better player.

love these!

Ive tried 5 of these and cashed in all of them! I just try to force a coin flip early if i think thats whats going on and usually the raiser will chicken out bc he knows he needs top 5 only!! Thats what I did in 3 of the ones i played. Im playing at the $20 level bc otherwise the prize is too small for my time.

sorry about the double post but i think thats bc of the intellipoker guys.. they are officially part of a pokerstars school and many of their private tournies allow german. There were probably a lot of warnings given out, so this is to remind the rules to those fishy Germans :D

Yesterday and so far today I am down playing this double or nothing. I had my BR up nice and now I am down like 20% of it.

Need to regroup. Gonna try the Omaha Double or nothing

Thank you! The only other person on the thread that hasn't cashed every game they've played.

I'm 4 from 8, i don't think they are anything like as easy as people make out (i haven't played the low linit ones, as the ROI for time taken is too low). I think the value has gone out of them already, most people playing know what the optimum way to play is, it's often just a case of being on the right side of the big hand v big hand confrontations (and i've seen AA v KK or QQ in half of the games i've played).

I have played a handful of them but haven't played enough to get a good feel. I'm thinkin that long run the turbos will be the more profitable ones and so far it appears that these games put a big premium on having good bubble strategy and big stack strategy.

I was doing well at first. I am thinking maybe that is because everyone else was playing badly.... LOL

Nonetheless something has changed in the way these are being played., When I started playing them the first thre people were gone through others doubling within the first 15 minutes. Now it seems like even in the turbos they are going 25 minutes before losing one player.

I guess it is like the rest of poker. Learn how to adjust and beat the game accordingly.

I do believe though that this style does not require skill on your part as much as it requires bad play from others.

I've noticed this too. They were much easier to win when they first started.

I have played 11 and cashed in 9.

I got bored with all of the slow play of these I have cashed the 2 that I played but they took too long, HU is much better. But I think I have an advantage in the HU, as the time when I play, if I get a US player they are playing at 5,6,7,8 am ET so they are not really with it or are just fools. I come accross alot of German and French donkeys also who think that if I dont go all in, I must have nothing so they call all my $300-$800 and I take their money easily also.

Ugh. Just did a $5 DON Turbo and it lasted for like 40 minutes. When the bubble came, whoever was BB pretty much got their chips + ante. THis continued for what seemed like 5 or 6 rounds.
Finally, players started letting their time run out (including Time Bank) in hopes of getting the blinds to raise.
Eventually a player was knocked out in 6th, but 40 minutes for $4.80... eh.

Are these Pokerstars double or nothing sng's/tournaments new? I have never seen a STT like this one - 10 players and all you have to do is finish in the top five to double your money !!

those tournaments are really boring and i think they are a waste of time also... for example in the 1 dollard double or nothing you are risking 1.15 dollards in order to win just 0.85 so you have to win at least 70% of the times to be profitable....

game play definately seems to be slower. And I have also noticed that this type of sitngo attracts the "chaser". Most beginner players like the format and therefore you run into alot of chasing. If you are patient enough there is money to be won, but if you look at the payouts, you really dont make much unless you win, so why not play a sit n go that pays out more for top 3. I guess it all depends on your faith in yourself in finishing in 3rd place instead of top 5.

Yup. I tried a few more of these-while I've won every game, its really time consuming -even the turbo games.
Takes about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the bubble and then like 20 to 30 minutes to knock out 6th place.

I hate to break your chops but of the last 9 Double or Nothing HE turbos you have played you have only won 2.

I am still playing these and like everything else in poker I seem to be on huge up swings and down swings. My stats look like a roller coaster.

Today was bad for me on these but the two days before I had been doing pretty good.

I think these double or nothing tables are brilliant especially if short on cash.
Play the $5 let everyone do there betting sit back and just wait,
just keep making little moves when need be.Keep away from allins even if i have strong hand.
I like doing a couple at a time.:)
