Hey guys.
I usually hit these double or nothings. I find I can play them and get other things accomplished or play more of them. I enjoy them. I noticed PS is taking the normal ones away and making it only fifty50. Those are fine also but I like the risk of the DoN's and cashing double regardless of 100 chips or of 7000 chips. I can see how getting rewarded for the chips would be nice but I have more of a finish line mentality. I was trying some out today (5.24) to get used to them and cashed 20 once, missed a couple but usually ended up with 7-8 ish. So obviously the 8 is less than 10 so I'd like the normals just for that extra 2 bucks.

Basically I wanted any advice on changing my game to get that 10+ more consistently and/or any insight as to why they would take the normal DoN's away.

I'm not an expert in DON's or the new Fifty50's, but since no one else answered...

My guess is Stars took away the old DON format and replaced it with these because the DON format encouraged extremely tight play. Tight = less action = "boring". With the new format, you have incentive to loosen up a bit, since when you just squeak into the money you only break even.

So that I'd guess would be the major adjustment to make here. See if it's more profitable to loosen up and play more hands than you would in a classic DON.

Interested to hear what you and others have found if you're still playing them.

I like the DoN's. I find it only gets boring near the bubble, unless you have a couple of really short stacks which makes it interesting, especially when the table leader calls with anything to short stack all ins (always some numpty with more chips than brains!) and then suddenly you have to re stratagise(if you know what I mean). I play 888, and they are still popular on there.

Don't know much about these but seems likely too much collusion in DON's. Maybe harder to do in 50/50? Hell I dunno :)

Sorry if off topic.

Not sure if it's harder for people to collude now in the 50/50s, but it's certainly much less profitable than it was in DONs. I suspect the collusion issue was the largest factor for the changeover.

So they are not going to add the PLO games back. I thought the DONs were being replaced. They had PLO games before and now with the new Fufty50 they won't?
