Zorba I think you can just deposit in your own currency, convert to US funds to play, then convert back to your currency and withdraw.

I think I did it and wasn't charged anything extra.

The only thing for different currency I can see on the client is for US$ Can$ UK# and euro, no mention anywhere about Aus$.

When I normally deposit there I deposit in Aus$ and during the deposit process it automatically converts it to US$, if that is not going to attract the extra 2,5% I will just keep doing what I normally do.

Now impossible to beat any game other than mtts on pokerstars??

Hi guys, so to my ****ing horror, I just discovered that I had been charged a 2.5% conversion fee on every deposit and withdrawal at pokerstars for the last 2 months.

I now realise how to avoid these charges by depositing directly in GBP to the stars client, then converting within the client to USD, vice-versa when withdrawing.

But how can the "average good player" beat a 5% currency charge and a 10% rake? Does this make all cash games (esp capped and split pot games) and sngs unbeatable for all but the luckiest and best - so only mtts offer a chance to comfortably beat the 10-15% service charges and post a + ROI in real terms?

Also, why do you think I got banned from 2+2 for posting this exact same thread there?

I found it highly strange and ANNOYING that their mods deleted my entire profile, every single post and thread I made because of this poll. Before it was removed, 200 people had voted. Of those 200, only 75 knew that they had been charged conversion fees.

Obviously polls like this would be very bad for stars (charging me without telling me you ****S) and if sufficient folk on forums (the most knowledgeable of all poker players) did not know they were being charged, then clearly pokerstars were trying to out-do our banks in being parasitic monsters.

I trust him, I can transfer any winnings to him and he can send via Paypal.
paypal have fees to transfer money and their conversion rate is way higher than PokerStars. So you might as well bite the bullet and deal directly with Stars fees.
