IMO freerolls are not that bad for a beginner like me. They give me chance to see how the game works
(Without having to pay to play
)
For me it is pure volume of hands played and learning that AK are no different that 3,7 before the FLOP
you have to get to feel the game.
All that said,you have to survive the barrage of all-in's at the beginning of the tournamenet. But sooner or later those that play like that are droped out of the game, 'couse you cannot win playing like that.
Then you are faced with more experienced players and pace and rhytm of the game changes. Everything slows down and tactics can be applied to the game. As the tournament progress, average chip volume rises like water under your "feet". You have to play tight but still need to catch the opportunity to ecape the "average chip graph line"
and the players are better now so it poses different type of obstacle then ALL-in players at the beginning of the tournament
If you manage to stay above the "average chip line" you slovly progress towards the later phase of the tournament.
Then I can only imagine that style of play have to be changed again to deal with the players that are managed to arrive at the final phase
I still have not enough expiriance to talk about that phase
And to be able to I need to play lots and lots more tournaments to reach that final stage of tourney
I cannot do that if I had to pay to play
I would go broke very soon and would lost any desire to play poker
So that is why freeroll tournament are good for me (in my opinion
)
They give me chance to experience lots and lots of hands of poker play without having to pay for it
free experience
(and experience or "feel for the game" is one of factors you need to have to bee any good in anything you do
)
I do find that reading posts in this forum is very helpful and it is very good place to find good tips, strategies, answers and oppinions for becoming better poker player
I also did read some pdf's on the topic
Still, you need to gather as many "hands" under your belt to build upon your experience
That's where playing freerolls come very "handy"
p.s.
wow, I really let loose my "hands" on this one
hi hi hi , well that's enough from me for tonight
Good night and good game all
