there are $1000 freerolls every 30 min listed in lobby.
I think those freerolls are bad; even for bringing new players.

The payout structure is so top heavy that the chances of cashing are very very low. Given 30,000 entrants, only 0.6% of the players will cash.

This is just a bad experience. I will play some of them but I know what to expect.

those freerolls dont like me i just dont have luck in them, always after 5-6 starting hands i get AK or AQ and cant win,its not bad to go out with thad hand but when you are beaten by garbage hands every time then its very annoying and it pisses me of

Gtd is just way to low for these huge sized fields. would be better if they made a 50K freeroll instead of 48 1K's.

This is my point.

Why do they put on freerolls that will discourage people from playing poker?

There's 30k people in the next freeroll (including yourself), so it doesn't discourage people from playing.

Of course; it is a freeroll!

What I meant is that; this is not typical poker and it might give some players a wrong idea of what it really is. The payout structure is ridiculous.

That being said I just cashed a whole $1.00 for 3h00+ of work. :D  :D

I wonder if they're giving as much away with the Santa promo as with the milestone cash promo...seems doubtful given how vague they were this time about how much they're giving away, there's probably a reason why they don't want us to know ;)

Really? A 1c buy in game that's probably gonna have 100k+ players in it? Not my idea of a good Xmas present

I agree; but at least the payout structure is correct compared to those every 30 min ones.

60K players but they did not adjust the payout structure. They froze it at 2700 places paid.

If it is the new trend then why not winner takes all!!!

IMO freerolls are not that bad for a beginner like me. They give me chance to see how the game works :) (Without having to pay to play :) )
For me it is pure volume of hands played and learning that AK are no different that 3,7 before the FLOP :) you have to get to feel the game.
All that said, you have to survive the barrage of all-in's at the beginning of the tournamenet. But sooner or later those that play like that are droped out of the game, 'couse you cannot win playing like that.
Then you are faced with more experienced players and pace and rhytm of the game changes. Everything slows down and tactics can be applied to the game. As the tournament progress, average chip volume rises like water under your "feet". You have to play tight but still need to catch the opportunity to ecape the "average chip graph line" :) and the players are better now so it poses different type of obstacle then ALL-in players at the beginning of the tournament :) If you manage to stay above the "average chip line" you slovly progress towards the later phase of the tournament. :) Then I can only imagine that style of play have to be changed again to deal with the players that are managed to arrive at the final phase :)
I still have not enough expiriance to talk about that phase :) And to be able to I need to play lots and lots more tournaments to reach that final stage of tourney :)
I cannot do that if I had to pay to play :) I would go broke very soon and would lost any desire to play poker :)
So that is why freeroll tournament are good for me (in my opinion :) )
They give me chance to experience lots and lots of hands of poker play without having to pay for it :) free experience :) (and experience or "feel for the game" is one of factors you need to have to bee any good in anything you do :) )
I do find that reading posts in this forum is very helpful and it is very good place to find good tips, strategies, answers and oppinions for becoming better poker player :) I also did read some pdf's on the topic :)
Still, you need to gather as many "hands" under your belt to build upon your experience :)
That's where playing freerolls come very "handy" ;)
p.s.
wow, I really let loose my "hands" on this one :)
hi hi hi , well that's enough from me for tonight :)
Good night and good game all

I didn't play these challenges because we have to use money , I think that if its Christmas it had to be free but it didn't also the majority of the challenges were very hard to do , I remember that one of them were win with straight flush with real money , that's very hard to do , that's the reason that I didn't play that challenges

Got my Str8 so another allin shootout ticket. Onetime! :D

Usually Stars gave us a Bonus near the end of the year. Do you think Stars is about to give us a Bonus this time?

One other thing; they keep sending me emails to use my FPPs because they are going to lose value when converted to StarsCoins. I have around 700FPPs so I could buy a Sunday Storm ticket. Is it a good idea?
You could or maybe buy into SNG satellites and if you qualify then unregister for Tournament$

They have $3.30+R NLHE Hyper SNGs with 6 players for 70 starCoins with top 2 getting $3.30 T$ if you unregister before the game starts.

So if you finish in the top 2 once out of three games which you should do on average then the value of your coins is worth $1.57 per 100 coins and not the $1 that they convert to. GL:D

There are other satellites available but didnt fancy playing the slower turbo and regualr games
