Me and a couple of friends were looking into maybe going to this next year and playing in some of the smaller buy in tournaments and in some of the cash games that they have there. Recently I was reading the FAQ from this years event and i came across this:
  • How old do I have to be to participate?
  • You must be 18 years of age or of legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (whichever is greater) to play either in satellites, and must be 18 or older to play in the live events. No persons under the age of 18 are allowed to enter the tournament area throughout the duration of the event.
my question is does that mean that if i live in the united states i have to be 21 to play in this tournament or do i just need to be 18 and they won't bother me?

gambling laws are determined by the country in which the events are held. In the Bahamas, legal age for gambling is 18, therefore, the PCA is open to players under 21 years of age from any country. I believe it was a similar rule in the Latin Poker Tour also.

The "age of majority" refers to when you are considered an adult for such things as voting, criminal prosecution, etc... it has nothing to do with gambling and being 21.

Also, I've been in some Indian casinos here in the states where the gambling age is 18. Remember, Indian Reservations are soverign countries actually. It is only U.S. Federal and State regulation that makes it 21 to gamble in places like Las Vegas.
