Pokerstars $1 PowerPath step 2's worth grinding? 10bb shove/fold format beatable?

Been playing these 10bb shove/fold format tourneys to win Power Path step 3 tickets. Ive collected a fair few step 4's and already won a Silver Pass (heading to Paris next month).

My chipev is around 147 & for January profits i'm ranked 8 / 112,690 for this format globally.

I'm wondering if the variance can be beat in this format as I'm currently on a huge downswing. What kind of swings can I expect? 200+ BI?

Played a few dozens of them with tickets won in the 50 cent satellites

That Format is absolute crap imo. U have to win the first table to get itm but then on the next table place 4 gets u 1.40 dollars and places 2 and 3 get u another step two satellite ticket. Only the winner advances to step 3.


When i reach the ft i wod gamble with the first hand possible to get out either in fourth (and get some cash directly out of that whole mess) or to have a good stack to win the step 3 ticket.

Prices of places 2-3 basically put u back to where u already were.

(Would never ever play that format without the free tickets and i am wodering which so called "genius" at ps had the idea to set that up how it is)

I played it once or twice but then decided it's not worth it. I can also throw the dollar away directly. 🤣

The $1.50 MTTs are way better and a much higher chance of winning a step 3 ticket.

Yeah...they could have just made it a normal turbo with 8 players and 4 players paid. But instead they released a bingo format with less edge for good players so they can rake more.

Because "more rake is better" a famous (ex-) team pro once said. and less edge is even "more better" i guess😉

I used to play them when they had 100 added tickets, I managed to get a $11 ticket most of times. Now I've tried only a few 30 added, but it's a huge change.
